It was a *proposal* discussed in their public forums. There are good reasons for dropping i686 library support and meanwhile a good and constructive debate is going on how to solve that problem.

Wenn du einen Dienst wie Lemmy, Friendica oder Pixelfed voll nutzen willst, brauchst du einen Account dort. Du kannst den Leuten dort aber problemlos folgen und die Nachricht dort erscheint so, wie du es von Mastodon eben gewohnt bist.

So musst du dich nicht für einen Dienst anmelden, wenn du sowieso nicht vor hast dort im großen Stil Inhalte zu machen und nur einigen Leuten folgst.

@Vittelius Ich finde das ist übrigens ein wichtiges Detail, warum BlueSky für mich nicht als Twitter-Alternative taugt. Es ist eine geschlossene Veranstaltung. Ohne Account komme ich nicht an Content. Tweets konnte man in die eigene Website einbinden und man konnte sich in Twitter lange ohne eigenen Account einfach umgucken.

When you look where Nintendo came from with the unsuccessful WiiU and their mixed bag called 3DS (with somehow okayish sales numbers but a failed 3D gimmick), Nintendo was taking full risks by making the Switch the one-for-all device for both, home console owners and mobile gamers.

@kuketzblog@social.tchncs.de Wenn du merkst, dass du keine neuen Erkenntnisse gewinnst, breche ab. Ich - als Apple User - finde es wichtig, dass jemand Apple den Finger in die Wunde legt, was ihre Datenschutzversprechen angeht.

Apple hat nur insofern einen Vertrauensbonus bei mir, dass ihr Geschäftsmodell auf eine möglichst hohe Marge bei der Hardware und das mieten/kaufen von Content und den verbundenen Services abzielt. Nicht auf die User-Daten selbst. Das ist beim einzigen Konkurrenten anders.

@OutofPrintArchive btw it is highly interesting to see how the progress between hardware generations become less visible than years ago. In 1996 a 10 years old console would be a NES with SMB and we played brand new PSX games with full motion video, 3D and digitized music and voice acting.
