Post that trigger outrage are much more likely to be upvoted. Users feel good seeing their ideas reinforced especially in contrasting “us vs them” scenarios.

I commend the shutdown but if things get out of hand reddit admins will take over the popular subs. They won’t let a prime sub get shut down by mods.

At this point in time, reddit cares about numbers, not competency. It doesn’t matter If a sub (or the entire site) degrades over time, as long as IPO numbers are maximized so they can cash in.

That’s exactly why they want you to use it.

I was using i.reddit.com during this period. The default mobile website was completely unusable.

Of course, they recently removed i.reddit.com, similar to the third party apps. They achieved the desired user growth and are now transitioning into the aggressive monetization phase.

When I migrated from Digg to Reddit, I didn’t look back, even if reddit was much smaller at that time.

Similarity, I won’t look back at Reddit now. I’m happy to be among others that are like minded.

With the recent surge of technical users the client side development of Lemmy will likely thrive.

I’m using Firefox on mobile. A dedicated app would be cool but the web experience is really nice, much better than reddit’s mobile site.

It works be nice if there was a way to verify that a user is the same one across Lemmy instances.
