As someone without kids...it's not very interesting to hear about my friends' kids. I understand they are a huge part of their lives - taking most of their time. But also being able to talk about other things matters.

Closest I can think of is sitting in an onsen (hot spring) in Arima, Japan, and suddenly feeling like I am one with the world - totally relaxed, without a single worry in my mind and feeling that everything will be ok. I think you could do almost anything for a day. One day is "Here's Jim, he's new, and we are going to show him how we do things here" stuff where little actual work happens.

A month would be a more realistic situation. I wouldn't want to be military in an active war zone, work for a drug/trafficking cartel, or any other dangerous profession where the likelihood of dying or going to prison is high. Or professions where I'd have to actively harm people.

I'd argue that logos are a hugely expressive form. It's just that 90% of them are basic ass shit tier stuff.

AI has basically raised the level of "shit tier" pretty high. I sometimes go check out Hotone Audio's Facebook page to see if there are new firmware updates for my device, but they mainly peddle pointless AI slop marketing images. I'm sure there are tons of companies like this.

It's the literal example of the marketing person being able to churn out pictures without an artist being involved, and thus the output is a pile of crap even more vapid than stock photos.

It was my first Souls game and like for many others, just getting through its first level was a combination of fear, frustration and small victories. But by the time you manage to defeat the first boss just barely, there is nothing quite like the feeling of conquering what on all your previous tries seemed nearly impossible. That just got me hooked on the series so hard that I have played every From Software Souls game at this point and still consider Bloodborne to be the best.

To me it's the combination of its setting, visuals, art style, game mechanics and level design that make it such a great game.

But seriously, I've been playing for a few decades but my theory knowledge sucks. I'm looking to improve that by learning to play keyboards. But it's kinda daunting to start all over on a new instrument even if you understand many things already.

Yes I think SSO would be a benefit.

People are generally used to doing one of these:

1. "Go to this website and register an account." This is e.g Reddit.
2. "Go to this website, register an account and you can access all these other services too". This is stuff that Meta, Google etc offer via SSO. SSO is largely invisibile to the end user.

Fediverse at the moment has a lot of "huh, why do different instances have different stuff and why can't I just access all of that? Oh, I can? But why is it so complicated? Why can't I just use it from one place?" that is definitely a hindrance to adoption until enough people are there to tell "do it like this" or the system becomes more user friendly and abstracts some of the inconveniences.

As it is, e.g Lemmy can't even do pagination right, so there's still a lot of work to be done before it's a polished experience.
