I'm not on "Lenny" terms yet, I still refer to him as "Leonard".

As for Lemmy, it's almost completely replaced Reddit for me. Except for the times I search for something and the best result is a Reddit thread from 3 years ago

In terms of race wins, yeah it would be nice to see some variety. But if you ignore what's going on with Max, it's still exciting to watch the rest of the field changing round race after race. AM, Merc, Ferrari and now McLaren keeping us guessing who else is going to be on the podium, and Checo being a bit of a wildcard keeps the races interesting at least.

Toto coming on the radio saying "We know the car is bad, just drive it" was hilarious. Hamilton was so salty about the early penalty. Meanwhile Verstappen, Leclerc, and Nando got along just fine keeping the cars on track.

Disco Elysium. Fantastic writing and pretty hilarious at times.

It's also pretty good as a portable PC when traveling too, so that's nice.

Right? The corporate double-speak just makes Huffman look like a moron.

Boost is currently up, but they announced they'd be shutting down by tomorrow anyways. At least Lemmy / Kbin seem to be decent replacements so far. Here's hoping they continue to fill with lots of new interesting discussions and then I'll be done with Reddit for good.

Well deserved too - getting the jump on Max at the start of the race and fending off Lewis on a slower tire at the end can't have been easy even with the car's improved pace.

You take a break from roasting marshmallows over a camp fire to go solve the deepest mysteries of the universe.

"I'm going to walk back to the lake to have an existential crisis. Oh and on the way I cast Polymorph and turn our Ranger into a spider."

Fallout: NV and Skyrim. People kept recommending them to me but neither really clicked. I put about 20 hours into each before just kinda dropping them and not looking back. Even tried mods since everyone says they're better modded, but just found I was spending more time modding the games than playing them. Maybe Bethesda games just aren't my thing.

I still think of Canada as only having 30 million. Crazy to think we've grown by a third since then.

Some quick googling and it seems the crossing length to the island is similar to the crossing of the English Channel (40 - 50km). The Channel tunnel depth is about 115m below sea level, whereas the Straight of Georgia has an average depth of 150m per Wikipedia. The Channel tunnel cost about 21 billion pounds ($36billion CAD in 2021 dollars) to complete, so I'd imagine a tunnel to Vancouver Island would be at least the same if not more. Doesn't seem worth it for the size of the population crossing even if it were possible.

I kinda feel the same. I've read mountains of madness before, and can remember some of the imagery of the horror he describes, but for the life of me I can't remember the plot or characters. Lovecraft has interesting lore and vivid imagery of his eldritch horrors, but I haven't been able to connect with any of the actual stories.

Right? Like why even reveal that publicly. I didn't care for De Vries but I can't help feeling bad for him a bit.

Been a while since I played, but I remember the two things that helped me on HotK were oil + fire for lots of passive damage, and that one mutation that lets you parry while rolling if you stick a shield in your backpack to deal with his bombs. And lots of attempts lol

I haven't had a chance to watch the race yet and had even unsubscribed from every F1 feed I follow so as not to spoil it... only to see the results in a music thread the moment I opened Lemmy. Well, at least I'm happy for Carlos

Tears of the Kingdom, and I might find some time to make progress in Disco Elysium. But Zelda is just so addicting. I keep thinking it's time to finish the game, then spot something interesting in the distance and 3 hours later I'm still farming mini bosses in some dark chasm and looking for that last piece of an armor set.

"Can I give you a hand?"
