More on the subject in an article from 404media: The 200+ Sites an ICE Surveillance Contractor is Monitoring
It says in the article
The major saw an unemployment rate of 6.1 percent, just under those top majors like physics and anthropology, which had rates of 7.8 and 9.4 percent respectively.
Computer engineering, which at many schools is the same as computer science, had a 7.5 percent unemployment rate, calling into question the job market many computer science graduates are entering.
On the other hand, majors like nutrition sciences, construction services and civil engineering had some of the lowest unemployment rates, hovering between 1 percent to as low as 0.4 percent.
This data was based on The New York Fed's report, which looked at Census data from 2023 and unemployment rates of recent college graduates.
PieFed has wikis and flairs for communities, Feed feature similar to how people can create their own custom feeds on Bluesky and Topics feature to browse content by subject, you can filter posts by keywords (Lemmy has it too but not on the default interface), warning label by the side of the name of people with too many negative karma/points/reputation to make it easier to spot trolls and some other fun things if you ever want to try it out although theres no mobile app for iOS afaik yet if thats a dealbreaker for you, but theres for android https://codeberg.org/freamon/pferd/
AFAIK there was another exodus after they announced to be training AI based on Reddit content, another when they went public, another for starting heavily censoring more the platform (some people a while ago were getting banned just for saying Luigi or upvoting posts with it)
Good choice, its a lot better IMO it just takes getting used to how to browse around specific communities if you are searching for one from when you were on Lemmy but so far everything else is better, just missing TOTP 2FA but its not critically urgent for now anyway. Take that as I dont moderate communities though I'm not very aware of the differences of moderation of communities between PieFed and Lemmy
Your instance is already hosting a PieFed instance on the side you can confirm here , its piefed.blahaj.zone
Here a table info with others non-STEM degrees unemployement rate: Labor Market Outcomes of College Graduates by Major ^.xlsx
It's from the same source as the OP's article (The New York Fed), you'll see it says last updated in 2025 but if you scroll down you'll see them mentioning it to be 2023 data which is what the article was based on too
That would be Pixelfed , maybe you just confused the names :)
If you are looking for fediverse Facebook, theres Friendica but in that case I find Friendica better if you're going to selfhost for you and your friends to use for having a different use case, also supports bridging with plenty of Fediverse platforms and Fediverse-friendly platforms like Bluesky and even pull RSS Feeds into your feed, its quite the tool if you are willing to selfhost or any of your friends IRL are
thanks i wasnt aware of such person i noticed he posts some interesting things so i'll keep an eye on him although im still too early to judge him at least on the Librefox video he seems rather childish on how he talks for someone complaining of a dev stance to then see target audience people in the comments talking about using Brave is pretty lame, if they were going to something like Ladybird (not ready for endusers yet) or Konqueror or Falkon it'd make more sense, I also watched the video about the BSDCan and it just gave me the wrong impression of him or hes really childish for my taste though I'll try watching his other videos when I can to be sure I'm maybe not misjudging him
I'm not a regular follower but Louis Rossmann does similar videos but not all the same subjects (however tech-only too) and he talks more coherently at first impression
thanks for using Leebra!
