I feel this deep. Coming around full circle over the past 30-odd years.

Cutting my teeth mucking around and learning DOS 5 with friends on my families first PC, they were directories. Migrating to a support career where everything is stored in folders and now coming out the other side abandoning windows altogether and I'm back to calling everything directories again!

At this point, I'm convinced that his face isn't makeup or bronzer but rather an accident resulting from a golden shower he received from a underaged Russian girl who was on some kind of supplement that turned her pee bright orange

Yes, this works well!

I did this with my mates at the pub once a month. An hour or two over a quiet beer, no pressure, just a casual catch-up if you could make it. Couldn't get everyone each month but across the year we had seen everyone much more than normal

Well, I'll be damned! The republicans were right!

All it takes is a good-guy with a gun!

Phase one: force everyone's data into their OneDrive account. OneDrive now at capacity, you must upgrade to ensure all your data is backed up and retained.

Phase two: MS secretly (or not so secretly) use all this data to train copilot.

Human generated content to feed into ai systems is the new good rush

I get it, he wants to make it feel like home if he's gonna be living there for the rest of his life.

He won't be stepping down from this gig, he knows the consequences he'll have to face if he becomes a normal citizen again.

Wouldn't waste our resources. Just seal up the door with concrete and walk away.

Something to remember:

Don't think for one minute that "not-Trump" means "not-Project 2025".

This plan will be on the back burner quietly simmering away until all those who support it are evicted from the RNC.

I'm calling it now: Putin has abandoned Trump.

Since Kamala has come along and and stole all his thunder by being... normal, Trump has lost the plot, but the last two weeks are on a whole new level.

I believe that Putin is cutting his losses and has walked away from this dumpster fire. This is what's causing Trump's (even more) unusual behavior. Sure, he's old and demented but the stress of losing his backing force has been weighing on him.

He's stressed about what happens to him now. Without the backing of Daddy, if he loses, there is a good chance he's finally held to account for his crimes. If he's not, does Putin finally wield what he's got over Trump to destroy him as punishment for failing?

But, don't consider this job done. Trump still pulled it out in 2016 after being written-off in the polls. The only chance you crazy, freedom-loving Americans have is to vote. Vote like there is no tomorrow because imagine what terrible revenge Trump would be capable of, if he does get into power now after being so badly burnt!

My dumb arse used to do this to win 98/me when I was a student. "Optimising" everything and deleting anything I would never use, trying to squeeze every mb out of my limited 2gb disk space but the damn thing was so unreliable I was constantly reinstalling windows.

After one reload, I finished late at night and just left it alone, forgetting to perform all my "power user customisation" until I remembered a week later when it suddenly dawned on me that it was running fast AND stable - I hadn't had a single crash that week. As a final test, I applied all my "optimisations" again and "oh, look! It's crashing constantly again". I was a slow learner and turns out I don't know better than the people that built the system!

I always think of this when I see threads about win7 - 11 being unstable, because it just isn't. As you dig through the thread, the op reveals more - they've chopped out all sorts of system components with registry hacks and third party tools or blocked updates and then bitch about windows being garbage - don't get me wrong, they simultaneously make it better and worse with every release so I sympathize why people try chopping out edge, copilot etc - but just don't.

Disabling services and uninstalling functions the non-hacky way 'should' be fine (and likely reversable) but if someone wants to bare-bone their OS or be data gathering-free, they'd be better off learning Linux.

Someone with enough know-how to automate (or if we coordinate), could overwhelm ai chat bots one target at a time with the most expensive requests possible, blowing up their ai budget until they pull the plug

"Locals just don't want to do this work anymore" (+ "for the terrible wages we're paying")

These free-market fucks, this is supply and demand. Shortage of labour? The price of that labour must rise until demand is satisfied. It's the same argument they use for increasing your rent when there is a shortage of accommodation. Except here, they can import and vastly underpay (exploit) overseas workers.

Good, fuck 'em and make the cunts earn their profits.

We need the artists to start pushing back against this with civil disobedience (or whatever the commercial equivalent might be).

Extract a high quality copy of the final film and set it afloat on the high seas. Best of a bag situation - companies still get the write off and the audience gets the movie.

I propose a counter article:

Why billionaires should not exist: "Mansions, supercars, megayachts and tax avoidance are not that fulfilling"

Well, if that's how it works, every country now needs to renames the US to something else on their maps. Whoever has the best name wins something - like, the Olympics or free membership to the UN.

Suggestions now open, I'll start: "Little Girls Blouse"

Not OP but I suspect they mean adults that struggle with normal technology but thrive on ipads (can remember the button they use to open sodoku)

Nothing at all wrong with making technology easy to use for the masses, but this can create problems.

Typical racist BS theory as a method to delegitimise the Treaty.

Somehow these clowns seem to think if they can prove Maori weren't the first here, thereforethe Treaty means nothing and can be scrapped.

Regardless of any prior inhabitants, Maori were already here when the Europeans arrived.

Even the cats maintain gaps when it's not strictly necessary. Remember this if you ever feel awkward leaving a space at the cinema, sports event or urinal!
