I don't live in Gringoland and I most probably never will so I don't really care about their politics, but could someone ELI5 why AOC and Bernie are being singled out for criticism ?
@lemmy.wtf
I had an interesting conversation today with an acquaintance. He has sent his resumé to dozens of companies now. Most of them, but not all, corporate blobs.
He wondered for a while just why the hell no one is even reaching out (he's definitely qualified for most of the positions). He then came to the idea to ask a particular commercial Artificial Stupidity software to parse it. Most of those companies use that software, or at least that's what the vendor says on its website. Turns out, that PoS software gets it all wrong. As in: everything. Positions and companies get mixed up, dates aren't correctly registered, the job descriptions it claims to have understood only remotely match what he wrote. Read: things even the most junior programmer with two weeks of experience would get right.
And it is getting used pretty much by every big firm out there.
Oh and BTW: There is ONE correct answer to the phrase 'using AI is no longer optional' : Fuck you.
People not realising (or not caring enough about) the irony that more than 80% of open source projects are hosted in a platform which is a) not open source and b) owned by M$ has always been a mistery to me.
I've been saying this for years: Just switch to Guix.
A couple of years ago, I had a Napster subscription (the reborn, legal variant of it). At first, I was happy to have unlimited access to music, then after 2 years I realised that I was paying 120 EUR a year for music I'll never own, so I cancelled the subscription and put my yearly budget for music to exactly that amount. It yields more than enough given I buy used CDs, and then digitalise them. That way I own the physical media as backup AND am able to transfer the digital, PCM-quality tracks unfettered across my devices AND with no need for DRM or shitty proprietary applications.
I never believed in conspiracy theories around deaths /murders of prominent people until I watched that video. 'as seductively as possible' is actually an understatement, she came short of sucking the mic. If I was JFK's wife watching that, I would definitely have given her 'a lesson'.
Legit wondering what this would change in the status quo. Will they finally...
1.- Stop delivering weapons? 2.- Stop economic cooperation? 3.- Publicly acknowledge that there IS a genocide 4.- Publicly acknowledge that they've been complicit in it all along ?
I don't think so, and if I'm right, this only feels like an evasive maneuver.
thanks for using Leebra!
