Even cryptocurrency got on-board.

Brazil’s electoral court ordered a crypto site that rewarded online posts backing Bolsonaro to be taken offline. X and Facebook ask to hand over data on who runs the accounts.

The Bolsonaro family’s assets consist of a total of 107 properties purchased by Jair Bolsonaro and his sons Flávio Bolsonaro, Carlos Bolsonaro, and Eduardo Bolsonaro, as well as properties purchased for Jair Bolsonaro’s ex-wives.

In 2020, the newspaper Correio do Brasil published an article on investigations into the involvement of Jair Bolsonaro and his sons with the militia and discovered that his second ex-wife, Ana Cristina Siqueira Valle, became wealthy during their marriage; together with her husband, she purchased 14 apartments, houses, and plots of land. Real estate purchases also took place during Bolsonaro’s first marriage, to Rogéria Bolsonaro.

Julian Lemos, Jair Bolsonaro’s former campaign coordinator, suggested—without presenting evidence—that Flávio Bolsonaro had assets worth R$ 600 million and Eduardo Bolsonaro had around R$ 150 million, and that they had amassed their wealth during Jair Bolsonaro’s administration; he also claimed to have further information about the family’s assets. To the Electoral Court, Flávio and Eduardo declared assets totaling approximately R$ 1.7 million each in 2018 and 2022, respectively, when they last ran for office.

An exclusive report by UOL conducted a survey and found that nearly half of the real estate assets owned by Jair and his closest family members were acquired over the past three decades using CASH. The survey covers assets acquired in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, and Brasília by the president, his three oldest children, his mother, five siblings, and two ex-wives.

From the 1990s to the present, the president, his siblings, and his children have negotiated 107 real estate properties, of which at least 51 were acquired entirely or partially with CASH, according to their own statements. The purchases recorded at notary offices that were paid for in CASH totaled 13.5 million reais, in amounts adjusted for inflation using the IPCA; this amount is equivalent to 25.6 million reais today.

According to experts, payment in CASH can be a way to conceal the source of funds; this tactic is also frequently used for MONEY LAUNDERING.
