For me, that's the différence between a nationalist and a patriot: the nationalist thinks their country is the best, the patriot wants the best for their country. A patriot will see the flaws in the system and will try to correct them for the benefit of the community. A patriot will be happy when other people will want to join the community to make it better, or to change it. A patriot is happy when the community evolves, and will work for it. A patriot can be a foreigner initially. Doesn't change anything. The nationalist cannot accept change. Therefore, they don't accept anything that can make their community evolve. They don't realize their country changed in the past, they idealize a vision completely unbalanced of history and cannot see the flaws in the system.

Unfortunately today, the patriot is a nuisance and the nationalist a useful tool for the nefarious people which wants just more power and more money.

It's easy to sell something to someone who thinks nothing should change, it's hard to contempt someone who wants to change a system.

Cute that US still think they will have elections after the orange buffoon. November will be very interesting, and maybe an eye opener for the remaining septics: I'll say it here now, trump is a fascist, a pedophile, a narcissist, and a dictator. He will not leave. He will use putin's playbook. The rest of the world needs to wake up now and consider the US as an antagonist, same as Russia and China. I would be delighted to be wrong, wait and see I guess.

This fucking site, I swear... I want to delete my account. But my account is blocked. I never used Facebook on another device than my PC, never on mobile. And to unlock my account to delete it, I have to... log in from another device. No other way. I tried everything, and the best is, their fucking customer centre is a useless chatbot. I hate this.

33%. It may seems low, but it's basically a third of the population. Not the majority, but for every three US citizen, one of them actively support this fascist turd. One in every three US citizen approves, even support the incompetence, corruption and crimes of this regime, only because they dislike people of color and/or LGBT and/or woman. One of three US citizen is a racist, homophobe and sexist piece of shit.

That's basically google's main business. Their business is not in web search, video platform, mobile OS, email or AI, it's ad. People forget Google is an ad company, that uses any tool available to give you ad. If it's free and not open source, you are the product. Either to sell your attention and availability to companies through ads, or to use your data to do profiling, build a more vicious ad platform and sell your data on the side.

150K for a dev in Switzerland is a very high salary. 145K for a senior dev with architecture and product ownership, maybe, but a simple senior dev is usually more around 130K. I'm a dev working in Switzerland. Also even though Switzerland is small, there are important salaries differences between towns. That's a high salary in Zurich, way too high for Neuchatel for example. Austria is cheaper.

[edit] Ooooooh forget what I said. I didn't consider the amount was in USD and not CHF. 150K is actually 118K in CHF, which is a good salary don't get me wrong, but not very high. Perfectly on par for a senior dev. Cost of life in Switzerland is VERY high.

It will never happen.

Not because it is a bad idea; it is an AWESOME idea. Work used to be something you do for the collectivity; you do something for the group, in exchange of something from the group. Today, a work is a mean to earn money, regardless of the collectivity. We do meaningless jobs, which often gives nothing to the collectivity, just because we have a rent to pay, we want vacations and a new car. A universal basic income would completely break this; I would work to bring something to the group, not to reach a stupid objective for the company.

However, there is a fringe of people which will not gain anything from this, even lose leverage and power over the masses: the 1%, the millionaires and billionaires. They will do whatever they can to kill it, saying only freeloaders and foreigners will benefits from it. And the masses will vote against it, and it will be a big victory for capitalism. Until global warming accelerate, we will have nothing to eat anymore and earth will be inhospitable for humans. The end.

"As long as he's in charge" and beyond. That orange clown proved the world that with the current political system in the US, no deal make sense. Every accord is useless, a visa means nothing. The first lunatic president can change the rules on a whim, it's not safe to do business or even to travel to the US. Even if the current dictator is overthrown by a smart and sane person, without changing deeply all the political system, everything can disappear at the next election.

This. I've been told for years to sit with my back straight, everything at 90 degrees (elbows, knees) while working. A lot of hernia problems. Eventually went to a physio, told me it's BS. My hernia nerve was inflamed, had to do some light exercise to get it fixed, then he told me "just sit comfortably, and change positions often". No problem since. Sitting straight as an I for hours is not good at all actually !

Dude, come to Switzerland... Our trains have a good network and are generally on time, but the price is truly outrageous. Driving by car alone, factoring the price of the car itself, tires, oil, gas, it is still cheaper than taking the train. It's stupid.

Nah, don't worry dude. America is just on the same level as China, Russia, North Korea and others now: not an enemy, not an ally. A potential threat, with a dictator at its head.

Thank you ! I'll try the hr email, that's a good idea. If it doesn't pan out I'll try a letter. It's so crazy how hidden and complex they make this process. It's clearly on purpose and evil, but nobody in the EU politics cares.

I would like to but my account is locked. Only because I've changed my email to use an alias from a Linux device, I think it triggered a bunch of security measures. What I find crazy is now I'm completely blocked and cannot have my account deleted. My name and picture is forever stuck on this cancer of a web site.
