Young lady, in this house, we obey the laws of thermodynamics!
@lemmy.world
I think about this comic probably once a week at this point. I don't know if anyone will ever be able to boil the problem down any further than what's here — "but what if we make a better world for nothing?"
Unfortunately I have tried to show this to people, or use the line that illustrates it, and the gist of the general response is "my comfort comes before our safety."
I am so sad that people I know (not you, OP) are using the phrase 'vibe coding' seriously now, like it's some new discipline of coding. It's a facetious term! The joke is that it's not real coding! Stop!!!!!
You know, it pisses me off a special kind of way to know that there is currently functionally no difference between a 15 year old stoner using ChatGPT to generate a paper and the people operating at the highest levels of global policy creating sweeping policy changes.
'Rule by Collective Unconscious' certainly feels like a new idea. If anyone is looking for a good scifi short story prompt, have at it! My only request is that you name the inevitably evil AI "Thoreaux", please. TIA
What fucking sucks is that they are criminalizing wearing KN-95s to protests in state laws because apparently they're so dangerous while simultaneously saying that these guys need masks to protect themselves.
Why the fuck do the cromagnons in office think I'm still wearing a KN-95? So I can cosplay Blade Runner at work? Because I am a duck furry and this is a subtle way of fursuiting? For the high fashion? Because I am taunting non-mask-wearers? NO, IT IS TO PROTECT MYSELF.
aaaaaaAAAAAAA
I am honestly suicidal over how blithely these ghouls are playing with our health and safety. Every day, I read a new article about how some white dipshit from the fringes of InfoWars and Christian grifting thinks that he knows better than my fucking doctor. I should just start treating my congresspeople like doctors and start mailing samples of my piss and shit to their offices. After all, they're the ones making my medical decisions.
I don't even understand why the boomers want this shit gone — so many of them rely on Medicare and SSI entirely. They all claim that because they 'paid into it their whole lives' that they are due a disbursement. But like usual, boomers are concerned about theirs; none of us who have been working for almost 20 years at this point will receive the same benefit.
I saw on the news last night that here in Philly, there were almost 70 arrests by city police of a group of union demonstrators doing an organized sit-in. When they were hauling one middle-aged black lady away, the news shoved a microphone in her face and asked if it was worth it. She just replied, "solidarity forever." ✊🏻
It's never too late to enter carpentry. I know quite a few programmers who do carpentry as their main hobby. Something about the math and the amount of careful planning is highly transferrable, I guess.
I respect that, but at the same time, if you don't make time for leisure, 30 years will disappear down the drain in a blink of an eye. Nobody is going to make that space for you; you have to advocate for yourself.
I saw a clip of Trump speaking in 2020 this morning as I did my daily video catch-up over coffee, and it really struck me how much sicker he looks now compared to just 5 years ago, where he already looked like a wet mop on a clothing line.
I know the Presidency ages you, but that's regular presidents who work. Something else is aging this guy this quickly.
Yeah in my high school, a girl I knew got into serious trouble for trying to bring her 25 year old boyfriend to junior prom, when she was 16. 😩 For some reason, the district allowed it. 😭😭
thanks for using Leebra!
