Use a fake email as my id? No, I'm not doing that.

I said email, not gmail.

There are thousands and thousands of email providers. Gmail is only one of them.

And even if your email is a gmail account, you may not want to associate your google account with the service, just the email address.

That's the OP's point - logging in by email is not an option.

Smorgasbord is not smørrebrød. It's more like frokostbord or smørrebrødsbord.

It comes from Swedish smörgåsbord, where smörgås is smørrebrød.

This alone is enough for me, to consider Windows a bad choise.

I've said that line so many times.

The countries I know of where employers have decent vacation etc and don't hate the employers, all have strong unions.

If unions doesn't work, then maybe you are doing it wrong.

There's two kinds of money: Enough money, and more than enough money.

If you don't have enough money, that's all that matters. A nicer day at work means very little.

Once you have enough money, more money matters very little. Now it's about enjoying work etc.

It's enough for email, chats, banking and other essentials.

I would say it's not enough to stream a movie, which seems fair to me if you spent all the data you have for the period.

Yeah, it's phrased in a weird way.

He is saying that when cars were becoming popular, lots of people insisted that horses were better. Over time, basically everyone realized that cars are better.

Now electric cars are becoming popular, although lots of people insists that ICE cars are better.

He is saying that over time, people against electric cars will change their mind, just like the horse-people did.

Here is in Denmark they are at 100%, because that's our law. As far as I know (as a consumer), it works just fine.

All soda bottles and cans can be returned in (almost?) any store that sells them. When we buy, a small deposit is added. When we return the container, we get the deposit back.

The deposit is adjusted every now and then to keep it small enough to not significantly affect customers buying power, but big enough that most people want the money back.

Most of them, probably. It's a new requirement in EU to get 5/5 stars safety rating.

That's also why it's specifically 5 features - that's the bare minimum.

I do NOT want my thermostats to phone home. I don't see any value of that.

But they are connected to MY smart home system (Hone Assistant), and THAT is accessible from the internet.

I get the remote monitoring and control that I want, and they don't get any of my data. Perfect!

If I want to call MY doctor, a specific person, then no I can't.

If I want A doctor, then yes, I can just call. Any time 24/7, I can talk to someone. Worst case, it's a nurse.

And I don't have to be rich, it's free.

When I was in Denmark I was shocked how many cameras there were, everywhere. I mean not just in the city, but everywhere on the countrywide.

I've lived in Denmark for decades. The only cameras I see are basically surveillance cameras in stores etc and speed cameras. I see more cameras in most other countries I go to.

We have nothing compared to fx. London.

Where did you see cameras?

Denmark is one of those weird countries where its illegal to have your map software tell you where the speed cameras are.

That's not correct. You can even buy gadgets for this in many stores.

Most companies don't listen, these guys did. Many times when people did the right thing, they had to go through a process first.

It would have been if they did it completely on their own, maybe even designed the system for this possible outcome from the beginning.

But it's the end result that matters. They can release the source or they can not. They chose to release it, and that's great!

Where do you live, where taking breakes is frowned upon? That's crazy.

Here in Denmark, I'm being reminded to take breakes and go home. I have been asked if I'm sure it's not hurting my work/life balance, before getting overtime approved.

It's also common to stay at work after hours to hang out, if there's a nice place to do that.

I was told that the trick is to not have the egg in its shell.

Take a cup, fill it one third with water, then crack your egg in the cup. Now it can't build up pressure, it can't explode.

It microwaved without exploding. As I took it out of the microwave, it exploded. It went everywhere. The floor, the ceiling, every cabinet door. I count myself lucky that I didn't get boiling hot egg in my eyes.

Also, the noise attracted attention from everybody in the house, no way to just discretely clean it up before anyone noticed my stupid experiment.
