My rule is to buy the cheap ones first, then if it breaks, I know to buy the better/best set. I've saved a ton cause there are plenty of tools I've only used like 3 times.

Reddit was nice because I could Google something like "best beginner DSLR camera" and I only got ai generated articles on the newest most expensive cameras, but I could search "best beginner DSLR camera reddit" and actually get good options.
What's the point in pre ordering if there are no physical copies to run out of? I'd rather know the experience is going to be good (and get it cheaper) by waiting than giving them money for something that isn't even done yet!
