@lemmy.ml

I have a trauma-based personality disorder, which sometimes manifests itself in episodes of often uncontrollable bouts of verbal violence. I prefer to direct this to people on the internet (as opposed to actual people), as I don't wish to be violent towards people I actually care about.

i thought trump only posts on truth.social, while this looks like twitter. don't use either, so can't confirm. buuuut this also reads like more of that "trump is a russian asset" bs that's been doing the rounds again.

individuals who come to the conversation dehumanizing others will and imo should face pushback on their bullshit. bigotry done jokingly is still bigotry. i find it cowardly to reply to valid pushback with "i was just joking you guys". you are free to do what you want though, but that will only make you hang around more at the nazi bar (i'm talking about your instance of choice, if it wasn't clear) and the reactionary echo chamber inherent in such places. i guess if .ml users being insufferable to you is a common occurence, the problem could be you and your claims, such as this. i'd also suggest trying to learn some humility and maybe engage in some self-criticism while your at it. good luck with your deprogramming!

you should stop surrounding yourself with the reactionaries at the nazi bar, then. it seems they're affecting your psyche

"oh well if it's the far-right and the center-right it can't be discriminatory legislature!" as if the EU isn't the problem, the thing itself that readily gives all the power for fascism and denies power for socialism.

No no, it didn't come out like that at all! No worries there :) Nah I just kinda hoped I'd get some kind of a reply, other than snark. idk, silly me

edit: i see they've made another "shitting on the tankies" circlejerk meme. i don't personally fuck with "shitting on the anarkiddies" circlejerking either, so maybe i had too high hopes of this individual :D

fucking called it when the first batch of millions started rolling in. not that it was too difficult to see. disappointing to see many open source folks being like "who cares?", which is just the head-in-sand reaction i'm used to encountering when talking about fascist politics with locals. it seems to me that the users who are ready to welcome large amounts of institutional capital into open source projects don't understand that it comes with strings attached. maybe they think more money = more eye candy = growing userbase = better video game support on linux? idk, hate to see fascism creep into every aspect of my personal interests

I was actually kinda expecting more from this person, I think they were in the comments claiming not to be attacking tankies. But I guess really just don't have shit to say in defence of their ideology, or this commenter's idealism. So my bad for being naive i guess.

I shared it for you, to save you from the effort. Now I'll admit that I don't know really much about the Spanish civil war, or the Zapatista uprising in Mexico (the two examples of "non-tankie communism" mentioned in the comments), so if anyone has any good resources or insights on these I'd be happy to read those.

First I'll say I don't have anything against anarchists or AnComs on principle. Whatever works in class struggle, we're all comrades. That being said there seems to be some idealism and misconceptions related to the comments especially. Comments like

Authoritarian and hierarchy types don’t have a lot of imagination and are kind of bad at creative exercises for building new ideas. Their creativity is iterative so requires an existing idea. There has only been Soviet style centralized authoritarian communism so that’s all they imagine. Literally unable to imagine any alternative (unless they read political philosophy).

As we all know "authoritarian" is a meaningless term. This has been gone through so many times. Now if "there has only been Soviet style centralized authoritarian communism" is true, why is that bad? Why shouldn't people work by what has been proven to be viable by past experience? Every socialist experiment has always been born to be besieged by imperialism constantly working towards its downfall using any means necessary. Idealism or "creating new ideas" is shunned among MLs because it hasn't really produced any real change. It seems to me the commenters are actually only against "the tankies" because of "the tanks", which usually refers to the Hungarian counterrevolution which itself was proven to be a CIA-backed counterrevolution attempt by recently declassified CIA-archives. It could refer to the tanks in Tiananmen Square, which was funnily enough also a similar attempt. Afaik there were organic protesting related to both incidents, but in both the government's response was specifically towards the western aligned violent agitators.

Furthermore one could argue against the statement itself, as for example Yugoslavia, China, and the Soviet Union itself engaged in different kinds of economic and authoritative decentralization, with differing results. So this seems to be a misconception.

idk, just had some issues with some of the comments there. which are pretty much the same issues I have trying to present anarchism as a viable alternative: that is to say mainly the issue of armed struggle against imperialists (that would inevitably happen) without a central authority.

I'm not Usian, but by what I can tell it's Mamdami's nontransparent decision making combined with hypocritical both-sidesing of an ongoing genocide, along with what seems like capitulation to Zionists and the police state. Along with walking back on promises to voters, with insufficient explanations as to why which ties back to the nontransparency.

Burger Kings might go away via boycotting, and so would those places of work (not to glorify fastfood chains as employers, those suck major balls). Capitalism wouldn't stop existing even if everyone stopped buying anything, because all those people would still need groceries, housing, electricity etc. All of those exist under capitalist relation to production. If people elected to stop paying their rent as boycott for example, the government would send the cops to forcibly remove those people and throw their shit on the street. Consumers boycotting any single aspects of capitalism will never be enough by itself to bring about societal change, because the whole of liberal society exists to serve the interests of capital.

China’s Commerce Ministry has stressed that the EU should address its own economic problems and resolve disagreements through dialogue.

Isn't that the goddam truth? I swear all the politicians in this forsaken bloc just spend all their days thinking of ways to blame someone else for the problems they made happen! Spineless, rich bastards. None of the economic problems the bourgeois politicians create threathen their way of life in any way. They don't care about the people they claim to serve, they don't give a shit about our well-being, our security, our future. They only exist to serve capital, and that is everything they care about.

I'm so fucking done with these fucking clowns still pretending this bloc has any weight of its own globally. Without the US there to back the EU up, it ain't got nothing. This shit will hopefully rip itself apart fast. Shit is so over.

There might even be a stronger push from some members to (at least try) mend their relationships with Russia. But then that happening would necessitate giving up on arming Ukraine, I doubt Russia would be agreeable without that happening first. I suspect that the current status quo in the EU wouldn't agree to this, because it seems EU members are sworn on re-establishing their economies through rearming themselves sans US, and rearmament will most likely just lead to more war. But then again the French and the Spanish (at least) are in the midst of mass protests atm, and the popular concensus on arming Ukraine/war in general (which has only meant increased austerity policies at home) could be turning more widely, though I'll admit that I haven't got any proof that this shift is actually happening. But people will always be against austerity.

Then again, things are always in flux. The current Ukrainian state might just kick the bucket during/after the coming winter, which would change things here vis-a-vis Russia. Putin will eventually have to leave office in Russia, and his successor might be even more hardline with even less trust towards the west, or an even softer handed liberal ready to open up Russia's markets again. China (and Russia too) keeps working with the global south, enabling them to use their own material recourses to kick out the western neocolonial powers and gain some actual independence, for the first time in a looooong while. Iran is changing the picture in West Asia and the Zionist entity is losing favor among the youth globally, the same folks that are protesting in France and elsewhere. Green energy transformation is a necessity for human survival, and China is leading in its development (there's been news about their newest nuclear fusion strides, though I'm not a nuclear physicist and can't tell how far they realistically are to making it an actual, usable piece of engineering). All the while there is a spectre haunting the world. The spectre of communism.

Interesting times ahead for us all, I think. Hopefully we can make meaningful changes in Europe soon.

I'd find it almost funny, how much capitalism as a system seems to favor those who are most capable and willing to detach morality from their actions for capital gain, if it weren't so sad.
