Yes, you are technically correct that a community with the same name could be made on another instance. But this is the Lemmy.world Support community. As the largest Lemmy instance at the moment, why would they want their server full of inactive communities modded by squatters? It's also my primary instance, so why would I want to create another account elsewhere just to make that community?

I understand how the fediverse works. This is a support community for the specific instance Lemmy.world, not the entire fediverse.

Unfortunately I only have two more weeks of summer... It goes way too quickly! Currently enjoying time with my family and just starting to plan a little.

People love their tribalism (as evidenced by the downvote you got), but it's so dumb. I have better things to expend my energy on than whether or not someone likes the same things I do. I'm hoping some others get involved in posting here so we can build a positive wrestling community. There are very few of those!

Unless I missed something, I don't think AEW or WBD have announced a new deal yet. There were rumors of a massive billion dollar extension in the middle of the Collision rumors, but that's it.

That's Sami Callihan's promotion, right? I've seen some of their stuff! I wish my local indies were that good. There are a couple that run shows near us, but they are the most redneck, small-time indies you could imagine. My son and I still have a blast when we go.

I enjoyed it when I watched them, but it was such a time investment. If it weren't for Dark, we wouldn't have acts like The Acclaimed.

You're good. I think a few are misunderstanding my intentions. I do have an alt on a much smaller instance, and I know how all of that works. But lemmy.world is my primary instance, and in the interest of this specific server, squatters and inactive communities aren't a good thing. Admins here have already asked that they be reported so they can be removed.

Except posting here is what admin has asked us to do in previous situations. PMing was literally discouraged. I did end up sending an email.

Edit: Sorry, I realize he directed people in that specific situation to !moderators@lemmy.world, but there have been multiple times in extremely similar situations over the past week when users have been told to post here. Both are modded by the lemmy.world admins, and I would think either is appropriate.

Well, it wasn't meant nefariously, but if it gets this community active, I guess it was effective!

The SexOver30 subreddit was instrumental in getting my wife and me through a very tough time and reigniting a bedroom that had been dead for a long while. I am excited to contribute to building a community here in the same spirit to help others in similar ways. And there are still some lingering issues and other random questions that I could use some help and support through from time to time, as well.

I am not sure of the specifics, but that seems to be the case. If you have a bachelor's degree in some other field, you can go through an alternate route program to get your teaching license. It also probably varies by state.

This will be my fifth year of teaching. My first year was the year that COVID hit, so no, it hasn't quite been what I thought it would be, to say the least. I do enjoy it most of the time, but I also was not on anti-anxiety meds until I started teaching. I am thankful for the schedule it allows me to have, and I do enjoy actually teaching when I am able to do so. Paperwork, meetings, and discipline problems (with a lack of support from admin) I enjoy far less.

I've been so busy getting my classroom ready that I haven't even opened Lemmy the last two weeks. The students' first day was last Thursday, which is a week earlier than it's ever been.

Country: USA Years Teaching: 5 (full-time tutor and sub for a couple years before) Grades: 5th Subject: Science and health currently, but I previously taught English language arts. I loved teaching reading but not so much writing. I don't want to go back from science.

I haven't been keeping up with Impact, but D'Amore was always better than anyone gave him credit for. The fact that he trained so many notable guys shows how good he is.
