I cannot understand why news organizations and large companies wouldn’t want to run official communication through Mastodon. I understand the network effect but allowing your employees to create a Twitter account is a bit like letting them officially do business with their personal AOL email account. I don’t think Mastodon is even close to perfect but it gives the publisher a huge amount of control.

I can’t imagine how embarrassing it would be to drive one of these. Like the rich man’s Pontiac Aztek.

He also fails to recognize how intimidating his height can be to people. I’m not surprised the door dash driver reacted the way he did. This kid is a menace.

If you read the article you’d see that he said that in the context of buying a Chevy Suburban in 2030. Suburbans start at $77k, so I don’t think his comment is that out of line.

FYI to Lemmy non-Christian’s: Paula White is an incredibly controversial figure in the evangelical community. Specifically, many believe her to be perpetuating fraud by demanding money from her followers in exchange for specific acts of prosperity provided by God (and even to ask God to smite your enemies). This differs from traditional tithing which typically is used for salaries, services (keeping the lights on), and community outreach.

Why evangelicals can’t point to her malfeasance as evidence of Trump’s corruption is a mystery to me. Additionally many conservative Christians don’t believe women should be in a position of authority, citing the same scripture she is here as evidence. If she were morally consistent she’d quit her “ministry” and go home.

I guess what Lemmy has in common with Reddit is that nobody reads the article. This happened in India.

Integrated graphics is already a thing. Intel iGPU has over 60% market share. This is really competing with Intel and low-end discrete GPUs. Nice to have the option!

When my daughter was 7 or 8 years old, I caught her answering questions on quora on topics that she knew nothing about. Something to keep in mind.

Likewise there’s a reason all the billionaires are building bunkers in Hawaii and New Zealand and investing in yachts, that Greenland and northern Canada have new geopolitical and economic importance, and that the Panama Canal is at risk of not being able to get enough traffic across. I’m tired of getting gaslit by climate naysayers.

He’s probably mixing up sperm with testosterone level. Somehow the conversation of testosterone levels came up with a group of kids we work with. One of the young adults who is heavily into weight lifting knew his testosterone levels. The 65 year old man in our group had far higher levels. The reason? He nearly died from cancer and is now on hormone therapy. Apparently the levels are set quite high.

What’s dumb is that 3D failed because of lack of resolution and brightness, and now we have more pixels than we can handle and screens so bright they can hurt to look at. PS3 had a couple games that showed different screens to two players wearing 3D glasses. I’d love to see full screen couch coop games with modern tech. 8K isn’t solving any problems.

I saw KISS a few years ago. Paul Stanley led the crowd in the pledge of allegiance because “patriotism is cool”. I want to know if they incorporate that into their avatar show.

I still don’t see how a standalone web browser survives financially. It seems like Firefox is always near death and has to make compromising decisions. Do you have any thoughts on how this ought to work?
