Is there a reason to expect bots won't overwhelm Lemmy as well?

I switched to LibreWolf, which is a Firefox fork that prioritizes anonymity and privacy. I like it, but there are definite quirks:

• it will tell every website your time zone is UTC+0, which breaks some stuff. Proton Calendar works if you tell it your actual timezone.

• no password saving and cookies delete every session, so you have to log in to every website every time you restart. This is intentional but I don't understand the rationale. You can install a password manager though and self-host it if you want.

• because your device fingerprint is generic, a lot of websites incorrectly assume you are a not. I have to use FF for GrubHub, for instance, as they won't play nice with LibreWolf due to restrictions on the HTML5 Canvas element, for instance.

I think it as undone, but there was a very serious plan to put breathalyzers in all cars. This cyberattack should give people some pause. https://www.jalopnik.com/...

Yeah, when Karp says "there will be plenty of jobs" he doesn't mention the wages those jobs will pay...

That kind of thing requires budget, though. The right/capital has that, volunteers don't.

I heard a rumor that agents were dressing in plainclothes and infiltrating groups to get in the group chat

Check ulimit to see the max number of open files on your system, you may even be able yo change it

On the one hand: I agree. On the other: what is the problem with illiterates agreeing with you on an issue? Illiterates decide elections if nothing else

Neither is Ivana Trump.

I have a Synology andits's the only non-FOSS components of my home network. I'm planning to replace it with a Linux box but I can confirmits's quite nice.

Why do you expect they will be unlikely to infect larger instances?

We knew that in 2020. I'll never forgive Biden for his inaction on reducing executive power.

I actually believe AI will provide a far greater advantage to bots than moderators.

Adblock was purchased by Google years ago and now allows "non-intrusive" (is Google) ads by default. Use uBlock if you can.

Please don't argue theory definitions with someone who lived through the reality, its just straight insensitive
