@indyradio @palestine so presumably "approximately 15,000 Israeli settlers” should read “approximately 15,000 illegal Israeli settlers”

@Skua @PugJesus @StopSpazzing the original inhabitants were put under enormous pressure to leave the island. They refused them the most basic services like a postal service or a ferry and made their life impossible. However 10 years later they discovered actually it was habitable because they located a military base there.

A dreadful story.

@NotImpressed @palestine he is a seriously bad choice in a Muslim country as he has delusions of being the Messiah.
He thought the Iraq war was a holy war against Islam, so what hope is there for Palestine?

@NotImpressed @palestine “Recognition matters, but not if you apply conditions, like Hamas should not participate to the next elections...that's colonialism.”
Agreed 100%

@Miro_Collas @palestine@lemmy.ml @palestine@fedibird.com I can hardly remember how horrified we were when they first started bombing civilians. Now it is regarded as normal. They do it every day.

The people who live there must be desperate for a ceasefire at practically any cost

@PhilipTheBucket “a new low when Israel's representative accused Albanese of "witchcraft" - and was promptly rinsed by Albanese's intelligent and principled response:
If I had the power to make spells I'd use it to stop your crimes once and for all.”

@geneva_convenience the Jews got stabbed in England under English law which is much more relaxed about what you can publish pre-trial.
I’m talking about Scots law which is extremely strict, to avoid a “trial-by-media”

And rightly so, as it protects the integrity of the court hearing.

@geneva_convenience the media have to be extremely careful. Publicity could compromise the trial and that could be contempt of court.
Scots law takes a dim view of contempt.
