I was just commenting on how shit the Internet has become as a direct result of LLMs. Case in point - I wanted to look at how to set up a router table so I could do some woodworking. The first result started out halfway decent, but the second section switched abruptly to something about routers having wifi and Ethernet ports - confusing network routers with the power tool. Any human/editor would catch that mistake, but here it is.
I can only see this get worse.
He should have respected the flag, like making it black and white except one of the strips is blue. Or by putting it on an article of clothing like underwear so the flag can literally go up your butt. You know, "respect".

I filed mine mostly because I knew I was going to be getting a refund. I wanted to make sure that I got that money before the IRS was completely fucked. This may be the last year that I purposely overestimate my tax burden (e.g. paying more in taxes than I ideally should).
In the past, people would say that you're giving the government an interest-free loan - I didn't really care about that because I knew I would get that money back later. Now? I'm not so sure.
I was curious as to the original specs (because computer tech so quickly is outdated)
From the friends wiki:
Chandler's laptop is a Compaq Contura 4/25cx during "The One With The List". It was the top model of the Contura lineup of that time (1994). The base model had:
Processor: 486SL running at 25MHz (slowed down version of the 486)
Display: VGA color (active matrix)
RAM: 4MB (expandable to 20Mb)
Hard disk: 120MB or 200MB
In 1994 the base model costed $3,848 which, adjusted for inflation, is $6,756.82 in 2020.
Chandler's version had "12 megabytes of RAM, 500 MB hard drive, built-in spreadsheet capabilities (they all had that) and a modem that transmits at over 28,000 bps." so would have costed a lot more.
I've tried using an LLM for coding - specifically Copilot for vscode. About 4 out of 10 times it will accurately generate code - which means I spend more time troubleshooting, correcting, and validating what it generates instead of actually writing code.
“You cannot have this kind of whiplash,” Etheridge said. “If every four years tax policy changes drastically like this, we are not going to be able to build anything great in this country.”
No shit.if democrats ever get a trifecta again (highly unlikely) they'd better fucking pass actual laws rather than this budget bill crap.
Medicaid, which provides healthcare to low-income and disabled Americans
[...]
At one point, House speaker Mike Johnson circulated research from the conservative American Enterprise Institute finding that, after sleeping, playing video games was how Medicaid recipients who do not work spend most of their time.
Yes, because heaven forbid the poor and disabled enjoy life a little.
I've said this to my very conservative family when they talk about cheaters and welfare queens - I'd gladly give 10 people assistance even if some of them don't "need" it. If it helps even a majority of the group, it's worth it.
Edit: And here's a thought. What would be an acceptable third thing they most spend their time doing?
There was a site I found in highschool around 1998 - the paradigm of pessimism.
Full of dark humor and anti-jokes, in glorious web 1.0 - that site had a huge impact on my humor. I've never been able to find it again. Just a random site someone hosted somewhere on the Internet - no scams, no paywalls, just a bunch of weird humor.

Boy, markdown + deep links is not a good combination.
Don't you know? All those abortions you hear about are for evil hussies who can't stop getting with men.
But if I have complications, I get to still have a medical procedure to terminate my pregnancy, right?

This is why I've stopped listening to 99% Invisible.
"Oh, cool that's what the bumps in the sidewalk/curb are for - blind accessibility stuff. Wait, why did it take that fucking long to actually make those a reality and why isn't it everywhere?"
Even their more lighthearted ones tend to dive into some orphan grinding machine territory.
