I feel little bit like cheater - I am not on beehaw that often.
I mostly post on homebrewing community on https://sopuli.xyz/c/homebrewing
Trying to grow it because I loved brewing subreddits.

True sci-fi is rare most of it is sci-fantasy. Great recent sci-fi is Expanse - author was pissed about these warp nonsense so he grounded it in physics and only added few technologies which could be made in future.
Few political not answers, some f-you answers, personal attack to Christian.
I would say that PR was disastrous, people rage that he wasn't prepared for obvious questions and 0 informational value of this AMA.
Try mint with Xfce - on 64 bit machines and then go lighter.
If you want try Minetest - opensource "Minecraft" clone.
You need mods it is more game engin to build mods on so lots of Minecraft like games.
Ahh s**t here we go again!
Seriously this happened in industrial revolution pretty often 200 years ago.
I will be cooking on summer camp.
3 weeks in the middle of nowhere, bad signal, electric power from small solar panel. Fun stuff away from civilization.
Don't take it as exact terminology but I call fermented juice cider if it is carbonated (and really don't care about fruit except of grapes - then it is sparkling wine or champagne). If it has no carbonation then it is wine.
Czechs have more words for differentiation:
*Burčák - partially fermented juice.
*Cider - fully fermented carbonated drink. This word is imported.
Some cider makers here makes mixes of fruits and still call it cider so it is little mess in terminology. For beer there is lots of specific terms in Czech I really can't find translation.
I don't have to but:
Hi I'm Plactagonic and I have slight issue with alcohol...
Right now I don't have any.
Sorry this bad joke pops in my mind every time somebody wants to introduce me.
Beehaw is for some general communitys like technology, news and other big stuff. They didn't create anything specific. So it is only for these basic communitys and everything else is federated.
I think that it is for people that don't know where to create account - you start with these basic communitys everything else you can find throughout Feddiverse.
I hope that in future there will be some breaking of instances to smaller more specific instances.
For me it is usable with few hurdles. But I like it so far.
For me (coming from RedReader) little bit unintuitive UI, but now it makes more sense to me after few days.
Linking communitys - why it opens browser of the instance with the community instead of opening in app.
I miss nice to have features like opening thread of my comment not whole thread and then find where is my comment, browsing whole instances ...
But I maybe didn't find these settings yet, people linking communities badly ...
All in all experience is good I can comment/post on different instances seamlessly, browsing is good. It only needs few missing features and some fixes.
It is the update to 0.18 federation is broken sometimes between old and new servers.
It is little bit work in process. I will try to update it and add pictures.
Can I use really bad introduction line?
I live in Czech Republic, so country of lagers, my dad is pretty conservative so we don't brew much of ales and other similar styles. For me Pilsner or Czech lager is routine brew for others it is the peak of their homebrewing.
I started 3 years ago making ciders (you can't get decent cider here) and I really like them. Each year I experiment with different yeasts and apple mix and last year was perfect - good amount of apples, I didn't make bombs ...
So apple cider is my favourite brew (but I can make them once a year).
I can write something for cider and wine but it will take few days.
There shouldn't be a difference.
For cleaning some chemicals can etch stainless steel - HCl, NaOH, some more aggressive disinfectant.
Apple juice makes little bit blunt tasting cider, I have access to press (Moštárna) - so I make it from my own apples.
Juice has about 13° Bx (13% of sugar) and all yeasts are able to ferment it dry! I don't care so my cider is always dry - I let it in carboy for about week to two weeks for primary, then I put it in bottles at about 1-1,5° Bx for secondary fermentation/ageing.
For sweeter cider you have to stabilise it. I never done it so can't help. Also you can add herbs, fruit to make it more interesting.
This is maybe better question.
About 6,5 - 7.
I estimate it from °Bx - 2°Bx makes about 1 ABV.
RedReader mentioned that it may change to Lemmy client. So I hope that I can just change account and keep using it.
thanks for using Leebra!
