But I can't pirate copyrighted materials to "train" my own real intelligence.

Alternatively, let's nationalize Starlink

Mozilla says that “there are a number of places where we collect and share some data with our partners” so that Firefox can be “commercially viable,” but it adds that it spells those out in its privacy notice and works to strip data of potentially identifying information or share it in aggregate.

Sounds like they've already been selling (or trading) data and this whole debacle is a way to retroactively cover their asses.

It wasn't. He had previously said that he would open source it after it had become more stable, but there was a lot of skepticism that he would follow through.

In our recent election, I was led to believe the president controls the price of eggs.

Stinkhorns basically pop out of and expand out from an "egg".

Here's an example of Clathrus rubrus emerging

This is pretty normal. Every time there's a big wave of new fediverse users, a big chunk eventually goes back to their original social media. Some portion will stick around to be regular users and the cycle will repeat again next time a social media company pisses off a bunch of people.

I've primarily been playing Celeste and been enjoying it. I made it to the summit and now I'm going back through and trying to find all the strawberries, cassettes, and crystals without a guide and beat the B-Side levels. It's kind of a slog though, so I'll probably resort to using a guide eventually. Other than that I've been dabbling a bit with Elden Ring and GTA V and playing stuff like Pizza Possum and Plate Up with my fiancé.

"Waymo reports that Waymo cars are the best"

Not sure if I'd call Novocaine a flop yet considering it had a relatively modest budget of $18m. It might make enough to break even or profit still. The bigger indictment is Black Bag with a budget of $50m and opening lower than Novocaine.

I think instead we're seeing more evidence that the mid budget movie doesn't have a place in theaters anymore and the only movies worth putting in theaters are tentpole blockbusters or lower budget movies that don't have to make a ton to break even.

If you wanna learn about some more wasp pollination, look up fig wasps (Agaonidae). Wasps are legitimately one of the coolest groups of animals.

What truly makes a difference for users is your attention to the product and their needs.

This is the most important thing here. Additional thing to consider that in my experience devs regularly overlook: how easy is it to implement and support?

Planning on seeing A Working Man and Death of a Unicorn this weekend.

They release these on Saturday or early Sunday pretty frequently, projected from presales, previews, and Friday #s. They can be a little off but they're usually pretty close.

A key to mushrooms that grow on other mushrooms

The correct term is entomopathogenic instead of carnivorous. Species might be Ophiocordyceps humbertii

Nah, AFAIK they just didn't release it because they thought they wouldn't even get more revenue from it vs just writing it off. They tried to shop it around but apparently no distributors offered enough on it.

I don't think it's been confirmed whether they've actually written this one off yet or not. There were reports that they had written off somewhere around $115m for scrapped projects last year, but there were no confirmations around which projects specifically were written off.

I'm not an expert in these matters at all, but if they had written it off, wouldn't they have had to destroy the materials?

Maybe Revolt or Matrix?

Honey can technically expire. If it crystalizes, some portions of it can become more diluted, leading to a low enough osmotic pressure for bacteria and fungi to exist. If you do buy in bulk, check your local universities. One in my area does honeybee research and sells bulk honey from their bee lab at cheaper prices than any of the private beekeepers. I use it to make mead.
