So this dude works in AI but can't read?
@piefed.social
If I get interrupted I never get to make a point.
When I talk I like to lay out where I'm coming from. Sometimes I need 2 or 3 sentences to make my point. Most people interrupt me in the middle of sentence 1. I don't bother saying things like "what I actually wanted to say is ..." because then I'm interrupted in the middle of sentence 2.
I hate talking to people. I never interrupt people. I guess people think I have the wildest beliefs and opinions because they never get to hear what I actually want to say.
I don't see anyone here making this about hierarchy or anyone claiming that one group of people is "better" (or "worse") than the others.
That Gen Z is scoring worse in those tests is a fact. Nobody says that Gen Z is "worse" because of that. If anything this might make previous generations look bad whose decisions lead to the world gen z has to grow up in: The school system, current crises, the pandemic, social media, etc.
To acknowledge those test results is the key to address what caused those results. Then we can discuss:
I first found out I have aphantasia and anendophasia
So if you don't think in words and also not in images... How do you think? I'm curious because I can't imagine thinking without either of those.
yea ok. then i'm again at a point where I don't get censoring at all. We all know that "to unalive" means "kill" and even a kid would get that. We all know when a person on TV says FUCK when they put a little beep over the U but we still hear the F and CK sound.
So if we all keep doing/saying ""bad"" things but now in badly cropped memes or barely censored, then who are we doing this for? For the algorithm which would flag this automatically?
Here's what would piss me of the most:
"Hey, I got a question. Do you have time to talk?"
Me not knowing what this is about or how long it would take to answer this mysterious question of yours: "not right now, gonna text you in the evening"
Me (later): "So what was your question?"
"I wanted to go to that concert on Friday. But now all of the tickets are gone and I'm going alone, lmao"
I HAD enough time to answer a simple yes/no question. I hate it when people ask if I have time to text. At least give me a fucking hint like "hey I got a short question: its about the concert on Friday". Asking if one has time to text causes the most social friction IMO but the least visible friction (to you).
Still?
In the EU yes and no. Most mobile internet plans here include unlimited SMS and phone calls as well. At least I know very few people who choose to have plans that include ONLY internet and those plans tend to be only marginally cheaper. However, the unlimited SMS and phonecalls (for most plans) only apply for messaging inside the EU. So if you regularly message friends outside EU you again either pay per SMS/call or have to get a more expansive plan that also includes that.
So overall it's the most convenient (and mostly cheapest) to do all messaging and calls over mobile data or WiFi
Today I'm "working" on my masters thesis. As of now I have not done anything meaningful besides browsing lemmy and customizing my arch/niri configuration on my laptop: Why does the right-click menu "open with" in dolphin not show any suggested programs? It does when I log into Plasma.
Anyway, I hope I'm gonna be more productive after lunch.
Yep. Pretty easy to find if the meeting is tomorrow or next week. But good luck finding the meeting you accepted yesterday that is in (maybe?) 3 months.
(I know again skill issue because the invite is conveniently stored in the deleted items)
Also god forbid if people want to have different work flows than Microsoft intended.
thanks for using Leebra!
