What the other responders have said aside, are you seriously comparing a hardware focused company the size of Asus to Valve who's hardware business is more of a side thing?

Each global region that's supported that is. I wish they'd have some way for regions outside of those list to still try. There was essentially 0 chance I was able to get a Steam Controller being outside of those lists.

While I agree with the author's written examples at the top, saying hardly noticeable inconsistencies in the animation causes a lost in trust is quite a hyperbole imo. Still, it does shatter the expectation of Apple's stuff being smooth and "perfect".

While it is Ideal to nip all these inconsistencies, speaking from an engineering perspective, this sounds like a huge amount of work for something that almost all users will never notice.

You're not wrong but is that not the entire console business in a nutshell? Getting a console is essentially signing up for a closed platform

Instead of capitalising on Google pissing off power users with its crusade against adblockers, why the hell is Mozilla fucking up so hard here? Seriously, which chain of command green lit all of this and didn't even think this would be remotely an issue?

Of course it would. Why would I pay 100 bucks for a game that consistently got worse over time past it's first few months and becomes dead in a year when the new game comes out? If it wasn't on game pass, I wouldn't even have bothered.

Why am I using an Android device then? Also how would this even work with open source apps that people build from source?

I hate this chasing of overly complicated and excessive software in cars. The only touchscreen I want in my car is the one that let's me run Android Auto for GPS and music. Everything else should be tactile analog switches and dials. Whichever person thought touchscreens are a safe UI choice in a fast moving death machine is insane.

It's the humidity in tropical regions. If it's not sealed properly, your biscuits will absorb the moisture in the air and turn soft. They're not oxygen removers, they're water vapour removers and it's there for a reason. It's not because we hate the environment or we're nuts. Hell, English as far as I know doesn't even have a word in common usage for it. In Hokkien we have a word "lau hong" which literally means to lose air as in lose the crispness of the biscuit.

Hell, there's also so many ants here that when I was in Finland, I was shocked that people leave biscuits as is without putting them into containers. If you do it in South East Asia, your biscuits would have become an ant colony in hours.

Downloading 4 GB of data without your consent is a pretty big issue. If you're on a bandwidth starved or data capped network, that becomes a huge problem. Wasting 4GB of space on this nonsense that users aren't gonna use too is pretty absurd.

Considering their trend of cutting everything other than the bonuses for their executives, I find that hard to believe.

Same issue with AMD's drivers sometimes. Not to say that their drivers are perfect but as a graphics engineer, I've had stuff my colleagues wrote and tested on Nvidia work fine but break on AMD because AMD was implementing the OpenGL spec exactly but Nvidia decided to be "lenient" and add hacks that make incomplete code work.

While it was different, I did like Exodus in a different way and it felt pretty fresh.

The average person frankly doesn't really care as much as you think probably. Anecdotal but people I spoke to who also got it mainly got it for the price. They'd still prefer Windows since it's what they're used to but the lower price makes trying something new a lot more palatable.

The clickbait titles and thumbnails destroyed most of the interest I had in their videos but at that time, it was clear that they were pivoting to a more typical less enthusiast-level audience. I still found some of their occasional videos somewhat interesting but the increasing hypocrisy and shit they've pulled made me stop watching all together.

So they're doubling down and ignoring the root of the problems that they've found? Classic.
