Why this over Mastodon?

Lemmy should do it similar to how I have seen this done on Mastodon. When you upload an image an overlay shows up to remind the user to describe the image before submitting. The typical user is not going to remember to do this.

The most expensive and cheapest phones are not worth it. Anything in between is good enough. For me at least prepaid phone plans are better than contract plans.

Bluetooth speakers are amazing and also the worlds worst technology in public at the same time.

Obsidian.

Since the Internet in general is getting harder to find genuine information, it is becoming increasingly important to save anything important to you. One day it could just disappear without warning. Obsidian can be used for an offline knowledge base. Design it however you like. I do recommend NOT watching YouTube Obsidian “gurus”, their system works for them not you.

Not true, Jack Dorsey is not involved in day-to-day development but is still on the board according to an article a few months ago.

Balatro, it reminds me of how everyone who back in the day played Solitaire on the desktop to pass time. Instead it has a modern take with poker and mixing it into a roguelike. Easy to learn but can be complicated. I thought I was going to put 30 minutes into the game but now I have 10 hours into it and can't wait for full release. Recommend it even if you do not like card games.

The Binding of Isaac. I keep buying it on all platforms. No single run is the same. More expensive than it should be these days but it is my crack.

This is one reason why daily stand ups exist in the tech world. For bigger teams it could be split into groups.

Personally for me, it allows me to dump stuff out of my noggin good or bad. That way I can stop thinking about it and move on. A form of self reflection. I have a bad habit to hold onto thoughts and go down a rabbit hole with them in an unhealthy fashion. Basically journaling but I can store things I have learned long term.

The beauty of it is Obsidian (or really any other writing app) allows you to develop a system of writing for you. I’m not the typical writer but Obsidian allows me to write without worrying about the organization so much.

This one surprised me. I was going to spend 30 minutes playing, now have logged 10 hours.

While I agree with you, hard drives do have a shelf life. How many years seems to be up for debate but it does exist. If you don’t have multiple drives that are of different ages you may be in a world of hurt one day.
