When Harris was nominated, I told a friend of mine that my biggest fear was it was going to energize racists and sexists because she was black and a woman. I though she was great candidate, but the level of racism and sexism in this county is beyond insane.
But I just saw Bezos’s ex-wife drop $680M to charities like it was nothing. Surely he, as a billionaire, could just drop that money too, right? I mean he only owes 2/3 of that amount, so it’s even less for him.
Also to anyone saying “well how can they deport a citizen when the other country won’t take them since they’re not one of their citizens?”
That’s the point…. They’ll stay locked up in internment camps because the US “is looking into their citizenship status” and they’ll stay there for an indefinite time.
Japan’s long-standing efforts to protect domestic farmers from outside competition, including limiting imports of foreign rice
Here’s the why in case anyone is wondering. It’s not a global issue.
So I’ve been on both sides of this equation. I had a rich friend growing up and they would give me random gifts like game consoles and tickets to concerts that we’d go with them. It was “pocket change” to them. As I got older, I came in to money young and started to do the same thing with my friends, and I realized why they did it and why I did it.
It’s nothing about power dynamics or holding it over others, but wanting to share in your joys and successes. I would buy dinner for friends at nice places because I wanted to enjoy something and I wanted them to also. They were my friends, I have money, why wouldn’t I want to share it? I hate when people are selfish and hoard money, so why not use it for everyone to enjoy.
What’s gonna happen is they’re going to get arrested and sent to a private prison who will then profit off their free slave labor. And in states with three strike rules that’ll happen a couple times back to back and then you have permanent indentured servitude.
You realized they just posted the full quote of what Hitchcock was saying and you’re arguing it when you posted the image it was based on?
Idiots and operating things is right.
To the people in this thread saying “don’t buy lifetime”, how is that any different than a perpetual license? Your alternative is subscription based… I’d definitely prefer perpetual to subscription.
