Too much CYA decreases the effectiveness of chlorine, so keeping it around 30 ppm is optimal.

You can make your own edible cooking dough. You just have to pasteurize the eggs and flour. If I'm not mistaken, I think the flour is more dangerous than the eggs.

There are even shops which sell edible cookie dough pre-made if you'd prefer the convenience.

They probably shaved about the same but mostly used double-edged (100% steel) blades that could easily fit in a slot, rather than the plastic-clad, quadruple-blade nonsense sold for $8/cartridge.
