  • Your Google search result redirects to Twitter
  • you click and open the link
  • Twitter asks you to login to see the tweet.
  • You close that tab and move on to next search result.

Best way to avoid traffic to your site, then complain about revenue loss from advertisements.

An app designed by US company doesn't represent anything related to security.

The founder of telegram always complains that the FBI has access to signal, apple and other related chat apps.

He suggests to use private chat, if it is confidential. The message transactions happens between peer to peer and it doesn't go to the server. He was claiming all the privacy feature that you get from signal is the almost same as private chat. Signal stil uses the server.

I guess the person is asking for a mute switch. Once the microphone access is granted, the person can't mute/unmute unless the website provides such an option.

  1. At the beginning of the video the kid was speaking in Malayalam language. So the person is from Kerala.
  2. He joined INS Shivaji, which started operations in 1945. Wiki: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/INS_Shivaji
  3. Few trainees were moved to INS Valsura, which was started in 1942. Wiki: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/INS_Valsura
  4. By seeing the video they had all training materials and machines, so it would have taken at least 5 to 10 years from 1945.
  5. Later he mentioned that he joined INS Vikrant, which started operations in 1961 by the Indian Navy. Wiki: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/INS_Vikrant_(1961)
  6. Another fact to consider is that Indian cinema moved to colour films after 1970. Wiki: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/...
  7. Since the video is in B&W, I expect the footage would have been recorded between 1962 to 1970.

It's okay for enthusiasts, but when you take this to people who handle finance and accounting, the first thing that they ask is 'where is excel?' It would be a failure, if there is no Microsoft Excel, in the corporate world.

Oracle couldn't force their employees to use open office, eventually moving to the Microsoft office.

I know this comment will be down voted but that's the reality.

  • It was open-sourced a long time back after the dev felt the number of users who bought and the amount of time he spent didn't feel profitable.
  • I tried using it, but stopped moving all my financial data as it can't handle multiple currencies.
  • The web interface on mobile browsers was very basic, not sure it's still the same.

It's kind of curse to live knowing what's going to happen to our dear ones, but on the other way I could spend some extra time who is not with me now.

Earning $10mil will not be my motive if I am going to live this life again..

I use Google sheets on my personal projects.

  • tracking expenses
  • tracking my ride logs from my ev

Google app script pickup email received from banks and update the transaction automatically. I modify it using web based form of needed.

The ev company has api. It will be called on periodic basis to get the ride details and update the sheets. I use telegram api to interact, by triggering the api webhook, getting charts, etc.,

Initially I setup OCR to extract the ride information, so the process was like

  • send an image that has ride details to a telegram bot
  • the bot saves the image in Google drive
  • the image would be opened in docs
  • the text would get extracted and stored in Google sheets as data
  • edits can be done using telegram webapp
  • sheets provide charts for analysis
  • built a process using sheets to handle telegram bot for maintaining users, approvals, etc.,

It would be hard if I have used any other services.. setting up OCR preparing charts etc.,

Perspective from India:

28% GST for spare parts of electric vehicles and the companies play monopoly by raising the price of the spare parts by 5x to 10x.

If we don't use original parts sold by them and do maintenance outside the vehicle will not be covered under warranty.

There were many fire accidents due to the hot climate, which requires the warranty in place.

It's kind of a nightmare to own an electric vehicle in India.

It's good for someone who drives for more than 50km in a day. They can save on fuel, which will be higher than all other costs. The fossil fuel is 10x higher covering the same distance in an electric vehicle.

I started using Google sheets. I know the implications on storing/sharing personal data with Google.

But Google sheets is being used as my mini db to store all kind of data. I automated many stuff with Google app script with telegram bot.

I am 100% sure that now I can live without Excel.

Same for me. I use solid explorer as I bought it.

I installed MXplorer on my mom's phone as it has all the necessary options and is free.

My account was compromised once, though I have 2FA enabled. I assume that I was accessing my account from a browser on a windows pc, it had virus but not 100% sure. Someone was able to access it, change my name send multiple crypto related links to users in bulk.

It contained years of chat history with my wife. I was able to recover the account. But I deleted all the chat history.

I still use it to get alerts from various automated scripts I use, mostly for the bots with free API access. No personal data go in there.

The mistake might be from my side. But if someone takes over your account, you lose everything.
