If only the west would just let Russia take what it wants, there would be peace in our time.

In other words:
The best part of my life right now is the bit where I'm not awake to witness it. Today I have to go drop a few hundred dollars on keeping my car running the same way it was yesterday. Then I get to go home and drown my sorrows in front of the computer because nobody else will hang out with me.
At least there's alcohol. It's probably cheap though.
I think many people lost interest once the initial excitement faded. Reddit is so vast that there is never a shortage of content and people to interact with it. Lemmy doesn't have the same vastness, most content creators don't get a lot of engagement so they're not as motivated, users don't have that many things to scroll through so they start checking in less often, etc.
The growing pains Lemmy has been experiencing have certainly left many a bit disillusioned too. People in general don't really want to put in effort towards anything they don't have to, and many things about Lemmy require a bit of effort. But overall I like Lemmy and I'm optimistic about it, I think it will do fine eventually, as long as we stick around.
"Today was good because I didn't feel like shit for wasting my entire day staring at my phone" sounds like a rock bottom bar for positivity. It's not even highlighting something positive, it just means you're now numb to it so it doesn't really affect you anymore. If your friend didn't tell you to get off your ass and go outside then they're not a real friend.
But what if you're not happy? Not only do you get to stay sad, but you have smarmy assholes like anon here giving you shitty platitudes about how you're failing to be happy despite all these "beautiful reasons" everywhere.
Yeah people will downvote random shit for no reason.
They often downvote because they don't agree/can't be fucked/don't relate rather than upvoting the content/effort or just moving on. It's kinda dumb, but people are like that.
