Lemmy definitely showing the same symptoms as Reddit as it grows. Too many people trying to show off how technically smart they are and just come off as obnoxious dweebs
@lemmy.world
Gamifying the voting incentivises people to make low quality posts and comments. That’s why Reddit is now basically just rage bait fake stories with comment chains that all look exactly the same. And now it’s all just ai generated anyway.
I sometimes visit and read the AITAH type stories and I’m dumbfounded that people can believe or enjoy reading them. All the subtleties and nuances of the early days are gone and it’s a race to who can karma farm the hardest.
The other thing that made Reddit great in early days were the small communities being visible on the front page. It made the content varied and there were different types of posting hitting front page. I think Lemmy is struggling with this because politics is just so loud that we don’t have enough volume of other content being made.
This author and site should be ashamed for posting this is as real. Pretty much everything on the front page now is generated content by bot accounts with a single post that got tens of thousands of upvotes.
Wrong. Everything is crab
Thanks for sharing. This confirms exactly what I said. They’ve received below inflation every year for 15 years. Now they’re asking for a huge rise to make up for it and the government is again standing on 6%. It’s sad that people are so against workers seeing their pay increase instead of being fucked over. I hope they get the 35% and this torrie government can get fucked.
The ten seconds to read the first two paragraphs in the link reveal that they’re asking for more than 6%. This seems hardly outrageous given that inflation has consistently beaten that every year.
The American system has been tested and it lost. Now it’s in the aftermath where the race to the bottom is an open race instead of being something to be ashamed of.
Good luck to the world as we see what absolutely bonkers shit we experience
This is a Linux community and most of these terms are common to even people new to Linux. I guess your joke isn’t really that funny. I hope you enjoy learning some new technology today!
