Hieroglyphs are actually not that simple, my ex gf was an Egyptologist, I went to quite a few lectures with her, that was a highly complex language, more akin to Japanese Kanji, with deep layered subtexts. Something similar: knew a girl that was wrote her bio master and she was like "you're all below me", one day she asked me to read her work for spelling mistakes, took a week intensively researching the topic and made several remarks on wrong sources/ better sources, found data assignment mistakes and content errors and wrote a comprehensive critic to the work. I'm feeling kinda sorry for what I did, she never handed the work in & is now a single mom. I'm far from the only reason for it, but I think that it pushed her over the edge with the decision to give up her academic career for good. Ooopsie.
