What's the pen? That looks gorgeous!

Wouldn't sh.itjust.works be just as bad as fucking?

Hey all. Twin Cities native here, enjoys android, books, fountain pens, and more. I've always meant to dig deeper into the fediverse but mastodon wasn't calling to me. I'm glad to have the reason (reddit) to explore this one now.

Thanks for writing this (and putting yourself through the pain). I picked up the ebook years ago and tried starting it, and found it really difficult to wade through. I liked the premise, it took its sweet time getting to it, and once it was there I felt...whelmed. Not overwhelmed, not underwhelmed, just whelmed.

Usually that's not so bad, but coupled with everything else you've pointed out about the writing style I'm glad I didn't force myself to finish now.

Yeah...might be better from a tamer instance, lemmy.ml or beehaw or something. 🙃

Did you finish book 5? That one was a slog for me, and I enjoyed most of the rest (even if book 3 showed much of the strain of finishing the first trilogy, I never felt the pacing slip as much).

Thanks for the tip about Power Delete, Ive been meaning to dip into shreddit but didn't have a good setup for it. This one was painless.

Red Rising had some excellent world building and I really enjoyed the early books. The further along it went, the less I enjoyed, but that may be me. I found myself lost a few times and Brown keeps on chugging.

In the series. I hit a struggle after the first half of book 3 and 5 was a slog for me.

The first two books are thrilling!
