Tell me one thing that is harder to do on Linux than on Windows nowadays. Something coming from OS itself, not from hostile vendor the community managed to patch support for.

Being able to make apps in plain Python or Rust, without running Android Studio sounds like a dream. Automatic simple things with cron. Using standard systemd, pipewire, wayland software stack... Being able to see data of apps and backup them with Restic or Syncthing. Repurposing old smartphone as Raspberry Pi replacement...
There are so many things we miss.
Using it on all my devices. It's there, globally and working. What feels constantly away is getting rid of IPv4.
I cannot understand how someone can talk about possible recent news as "Google AI" or "ChatGPT" "told me". Any imagination where the AI model gets the information from? It scrapes the websites and does wohoo math. It's not that it autonomously tapped some Google employee microphone and now it knows.

According to this support page only older iOS versions would need additional app. So I can assume Apple and Google collaborate on that and Apple added the "feature" in newer iOS already.
I have Tuxedo laptop (they get them the same ODMs as Slimbook) and love it but if it ever drops on the floor with significant imparct I no longer have a laptop. All I could do is send it back for official repair to Germany and prey, while if I got Framework I could buy parts myself.
What is complicated about Matrix?
I would love to use this superior as you say IPv4 addressing technology, but newsflash we have ran out of it.
Don't you have 5€/mo even? Because that what Hetzner VPS costs. Or a little spare for used Raspberry Pi 4?
Comments are giving single-word answers without explanation…
Cannot answer your question without you giving some context or explaining what you want. Signal is a service ment to be used wigh particular multiplatform application. Matrix is communication protocol having chat as main focus, with multiple services and apps supporting it.
Open registration if and only if you are ready for routine maintenance, creating cleaning schedules, applying spam filters, balancing resource usage, etc. Not to discourage, but for you to know what you really want. If server is for friends and family, just leave registration closed.
My recommendation, as someone hosting a public server is to first host the server for yourself, play for some time, join some rooms on other servers, then invite friends, then if you feel ready and willing open it to the public.
Matrix Authentication Service is good to have, as you can use next-gen Element X which is most polished app as for now.
At least one. Just one actively manufactured phone with full hardware support 🙏
Would give lower score, as this should definetly be on the first page
Sometimes there isn't anyone wanting to hear you.
Maybe it is, but as with any question about something containing malware or being compromised or not is not about an individual using it without problems ;).
requiring, or strongly encouraging, all young adults
Half of the all is very far away from "all".
Spyware can alter the database of accessed files.
Requiring Google Play and Google account to download and is proprietary, I'll pass.
Because it is a web browser underneath
Until you realize you don't know how to get you, while someone takes off the shoes and starts to tickle.
