Economic sanctions aren't only on materials(, e.g., sanctions on Russia's central bank), but even when they are, they don't only concern the exportation of raw material, but also their importation, as well as the importation and exportation of manufactured products, which means that out of these 4 cases there's 3 that impact industries. Correct me if i'm wrong.

The opposite seems more truthful : the n.a.t.o. and e.u. were given every chances to welcome Russia, but they immediately took steps to establish their hegemony(, including the bombing of Yugoslavia, and the whole Middle-East), before "protecting protesters" in Lybia V.Putin already knew that we were the biggest liars on Earth, he saw what was hidden behind our lies and opposed Dmitry Medvedev(, almost every article from 2011 says that it was rare for him), who was ready to believe us one more time(, and quickly regretted his trust).
We(sterners) had more than one chance to be united in diversity, we still have this possibility now, instead we're opposing everyone who doesn't conform to our "values". If we(sterners)'re not stopped then neo-colonialism won't end and any country judged too diverse will be forced to conform. Also, Russia is considered too large/powerful and hence too difficult to control, thus a potential threat to western hegemony/"enforced peace", allowing western hegemony may imply a smaller and/or less powerful Russia.
There's more details on everything that Russia(, and even the u.s.s.r. before,) did in order to unite with the west, but we're so certain of our moral&economic&military&.. superiority that we won't agree to any concession.
It's a badly written comment, there's only two arguments and i'd have to search in my computer folders for any sources i may have(, i remember that in the first years after Yeltsin resigned, V.Putin took many measures to unite with the west, and obtained such things as the NATO-Russia Council). I still think that there's a lot of truth in writing that Russia had&'will have' to abandon its diversity in order to have a hope of uniting with the west(, in the sense of not being unfairly attacked by our politicians&medias since they're probably too big to be integrated into the e.u. anyway, they could join n.a.t.o. but they would have to agree with our goal for hegemony and apparently prefer to suffer than being immoral).

Yeah, i took his comment way too literally since its false sense of security made me feel uneasy, he obviously meant that it's (a bit )harder, not impossible. We should be sanctioned ourselves to feel/understand them, the economic destructions they cause are also responsible for an unrest attributed to the leaders(, it'd be much harder to lead China if its economy wasn't doing so well), the only way out if autarcy isn't a valid option(, autarcy ≠ protectionnism, only the first one is nocive). Interesting to note that China was one of the few countries who didn't follow the recommendations of market freedoms, i've read from some authors that it's not a coincidence if free markets are only successful for the already wealthy countries, and not the global South, your article from the awesome Moon of Alabama(, leftist "disinformation" that ought to be banned at some point, fortunately not read enough to worry the powerful,) remind me of this approach to speak about neocolonialism(, there're others but this one may be the most known). I've looked at it in the beginning of this year, and made this tl;dr of a chapter from the pro-capitalist(,yet anti-free markets,) Ha-Joon Chang in his book "23 Things They Don't Tell You About Capitalism", have a look if you're interested :)

Also, i never tire to cite what's quite probably my ~favorite tweet :

If Saudi Arabia was that much allied with the u.s. it'd have accepted Israel and wouldn't be criticized that much, and would also play its expected role against Iran. Don't forget that S.Hussein was also our ally in the past, things change. As long as it's good news for them and not bad news for the others then it's a reason to rejoice i.m.h.o.

Hordes of drones flying over the city in order to find any possible infraction, don't you want to feel safe ? (/s obv.)

In any case, we don't get to decide, it's our so-called representatives who'll take the decision, with or without campaigns of communication.
At least in a real democracy, if the whole population agree to it, then i'd conform more readily to our choice even if i personally disagreed, but we're not in a democracy, in which the demos has the cratos.
We're in a constitutional republic, and our representatives are democratically elected, once they take the power from the people to decide in their stake it's not a democracy, such as the one that once existed in Athens(, only for citizens, but the logic is the same).
Having the possibility to cancel any decision with a strong enough popular petition would be a first step, yet it'd be unimaginable for our "democratic" leaders, because the population needs to be directed, and shouldn't be listened to. We're ignorant while they know(, whose fault is it since we follow ? we obtain the population we deserve), people are stupid(, but we never include ourselves, we all have the same potential), we have to trust our leaders, etc.
In truth, we know what's desirable, and anyone is apt to debate on whether or not this aim is indeed desirable. We only need to have experts and do experiments to test their predictions, because we don't know anything about the technical details, almost as much as our leaders who trust these experts without obtaining the promised results sometimes(, preliminary experiments won't prevent all mistakes, but at least it'd be our mistake, not theirs, we rarely can't go back on our decisions).
Well, whatever, just to say that the decision isn't up to us(, and consent is manufactured).

And i don't understand why 'we should feel generous to have given'/'they should feel grateful to have received' help in the form of loans(, to buy military stuff that has one of the highest surplus value from our own enterprises), there's probably a reason to feel grateful for getting more loans and interests to pay, but i don't get it.

Red says that 160 palestinians were killed today when israelis simply bombed civilians in Gaza.
As usual, it's hard to find the same numbers across a simple Google Images search, but :

They didn't gave up though :

That's probably the most instructive article i've read since the beginning of the year !

I couldn't think of any more names to add, Steven Donziger isn't a corporate political prisoner since April if i understood correctly, but if you don't know his story it's worth taking a look for 5mn.
And it happens almost every day, in total indifference.

If that list wasn't enough, i'd also like to remind everyone that many more whistleblowers were persecuted without judiciary actions, because... what ? Because we have an image to maintain ? We're here to be/do good, whistleblowers should be hailed as the heroes they are, (i'm thinking about a recent interview featuring Julia Cagé, and )we know what is good and wrong, we just pretend not to be able to improve things, f*cking hate this world sometimes, nothing will change, even when we have the solutions.

I double-checked and you're entirely right, i didn't know that, i've heard many years ago that a single big lightning strike could power a large city for months(, while it's indeed more a matter of minutes, if not less), and thought that it was a technological problem(, and that, e.g., flying devices anchored on the ground to either a portable infrastructure or a nationwide-extended network, could potentially make up for the unreliability and follow the storms, or even perhaps cause them one day).
Now i understand even better why solar power is preferred, thanks !

B.t.w., a new candidate to succeed to Andrés Manuel López Obrador in the 2024 presidential elections has been chosen today, her name is Claudia Sheinbaum, best of luck to her.

I can't remember where i found a link explaining that the number of sanctions didn't necessarily implied something about their intensity, but yeah, this kind of picture was quite widespread last year. Also, North Korea’s isolation from the global economy gives less room for sanctions.
In 1984, you have three sides who hate and don't interact with each other, i'd certainly prefer cooperation instead of always more suffering and destructions.

Only successful ones, and for the last 5-10 years if possible. You're right i should have included the 2014 coup, thanks.

On the 2004 one, apart from the important Lothar Wicke, i've also stumbled onto this last year b.t.w., seemed worth including in this reply :

Oh no, i really wanted him to eventually succeed with his coup ^(/s)
Very sad it ended like that however, as always with all deaths.

I've read from western medias that the russian medias have been destroying his reputation for the last months, i.d.k. if that's true.
The only weird thing would be to have chosen the b.r.i.c.s summit as a good time to kill him, almost every other days would have been fine, but that's quite probably not enough of a reason to have doubts on the culprit, they've perhaps seized an opportunity.
