Unrelated to your original question, and not something I particularly want or intend to disparage you over, or discuss further - each to their own and all that - but I’d just be wary of dismissing entire works purely based on your perception of how women are represented, without taking into account the society in which they were written and the worlds in which they were set - I think you’ll make your life poorer for it. If anything, why not read it to see if it confirms your original impression? Plus, as I’m sure you’re aware, in LOTR there are a number of powerful and plot vital female characters, including Galadriel, Éowyn and even Shelob :)
I was born and brought up in an extremely rural area of the westcountry, and I’m well aware of the “farmer hard times” saying as farmers drive past in e.g. brand new landrovers, but this inheritance tax change has not been thought through. Assuming a farm is liable to inheritance tax, where does the money come from without liquidating assets? Sell part of the farm? So then you have a small piece of land with agricultural use restrictions, no infrastructure, probably too small to form a separate farm. Repeat for a few generations and all the farms are then the same size, with efficiency of scale problems - not to mention where do the new farmers come from? Sell farm machinery - great, you’ve no business. Sell your stock - you’ve no business.
Much better to tax people when they are alive, on their earnings, and expand it to all earnings from any source, lumped together and charged at the relevant rate of income tax.
I haven’t had that one, but will keep an eye out for it! My vote - so far - goes to Ur Krostitzer Alkoholfrei though - of all the non alcoholic beers I’ve tried in Germany, it has by far the most beer-like taste, doesn’t taste weirdly malty and hasn’t replaced the alcohol with sugar….
Honestly, poorly! Trying to learn a language that I don’t particularly like, with the sole motivation that it would let me get citizenship of the country I live in. Sadly I don’t need said citizenship, can function in my job using my native language, and actually need to speak said native language at home to help my son learn it. Meh, there it is, maybe another decade of passive immersion will get me there if it’s still necessary! Good luck to all you motivated folks in 2026, I envy you! :)
Sorry - not sure how to reply to individual points but:
Yep, got an otterbox case, but would probably be more relaxed if they made one that my 2 year old could fit in!
My photography is to - mostly - capture said toddler’s life, not share socially, so image quality still important to me.
Sadly there’s a rather important “can’t transfer between iOS and android” point in the link you kindly shared.
And yes, perhaps a contradiction, but only if you consider those points as customisation rather than - as I did - a minimum quality/standard. Still, there it is, one person’s expectation is another’s luxury!
Thank you! I’ve hopefully added a picture. I suspect that you’re right - every time I mention the plants my wife rolls her eyes….
I’m leaving the flower pot until it feels light, then watering well, and the water drains freely. The top layer of soil currently feels “sticky” after being watered a day ago - I also check that the top 1-2 cm is dry before watering. I’ll resist any further fertilisation unless the photo makes people think there’s a nutrient problem.
Deep rooters! I’ve just done some repotting before reading your reply, actually downsized slightly and added a lot of drainage as the roots were basically nonexistent and I’m trying to force myself to not overwater now. When the colour returns and the repotting stress has passed I’ll follow your advice and go directly to the “final” pot size.

Woot!!
Thank you for the detail - I understand it’s not necessarily due in one go, but “even” 40k per year is still not loose change that the vast majority of farmers will have lying around, and my point about having to liquidate assets still stands, whether a smaller amount of assets per year or deferred. The wealth of most farms is tied up in the land and property, and the items required to run the farm in the first place. A further point would be that if it is to be considered a small, easily repayable sum, then given the small number of farmers likely to be affected each year in the first place, why bother? It’s not a significant source of government revenue and risks driving some farms out of business, for what?
I got Hexcodle #910 in 3! Score: 85%
