I recommend actually listening to the video. Her arguments are very compelling: youtube.com/watch?v=OfSvnaMS7KI&pp=ygUSTWVuIHRoYXQgaGF0ZSBidXN2

I am often blown away when reading about traditional African religions. There are actually many distinct cultures/systems/pantheons still widely practiced today and yet they receive very little attention.

American libertarianism is interely coherent. Religious nutjobs and large business owners want state power to go away because churches and corporations will gain that power.

Nah, they were never like that. I recommend this blog, Fardel's Bear/Altright origins, that has been running since 2017. Adherents of libertarianism has ALWAYS been racist and misogynist, and even tries to retcon its own history as progressive.

Their platonic ideal would support women’s and queer liberation, personally oppose racism (but would support every individual’s right to be bigoted). They’d be in favor of the right to use drugs. They’d oppose religious power. They’d believe minorities and women should arm ourselves.

That is where you are dead wrong. I read libertarian/ancap subreddits now and then, and they are very used to these statements. Their answer is truthful: they support freedom, not progressivism. In other words, they opposed to the authority of a central state. They don't care if individuals or private organizations want exclude certain people. They very much think that excluding certain races, women or LGBT from their shops or organizations is a libertarian virtue. More so, many libertarians are extremely traditionalist, religious people who want the state to go away so they are free to form communities base their own insane ideas.

My issue with these "progressive" christian takes that hateful, controlling christianity is a recent phenomena, is that christianity has been hateful and controlling for all of its existence.

Its just denial.

Ah, and by the way, saying that the decline of the Catholic Church is a good thing does not make you much different from the more extreme Christians you criticize. Both positions ultimately celebrate the weakening of a group.

I am just happy that an organization that have decided life and death for people, cultures and religions for centuries is in decline. Hilariously, it happens due to the absolute choke hold it has had on the world, being lifted. As soon as it has fewer privileges or power, it is sent into a spiral of disappearing members.

Honestly, this chart is sad. I have not listened to a single of any of these type of podcasts because I stay away from bad content.

It tries to communicate that libertarians aren’t fascists. Which is incorrect.
