They learned their lesson after 2008. That lesson was, the government will bail them out. These people and companies don't care.
@lemmy.world
When VC and PE call a company or industry "mature" it means they don't see increasing revenue, only something to be sucked dry and sold for parts. To them, consistent revenue is worthless, it must be skyrocketing or nothing. If you want to see this in action right now, look what Broadcom is doing to VMWare. They also saw VMWare as a "mature company".
I replied elsewhere, but this is a manufactured case. The goal is to get it in front of the supreme court and get a blanket ban on all porn. This is one of the top objectives of project 2025
Performative patriotism is such an obvious thing to spot but too many people eat that shit up. You can tell exactly how much they really care for veterans by how they're treated when not being used as a political prop.
That and the uncertainty of being able to open the doors when a quick exit is needed, say a fire or something. There's a big difference in price tag in total loss vs. loss of life.
They lack unity and any sort of definitive leadership. They're a rudderless ship in a storm. What consensus they can muster among the older ranks is to not upset their wealthy donors, so any chance of creating a policy to invigorate the working class is out of the question. Any policy that is good for the working class will tap the brakes on the unfettered looting being done by the ruling class, so that's a no starter for the establishment Democrats.
You're right, it's just small beans gossip.
It's also just one more example to throw on the pile of why it's completely stupid that he has such a large following of devout Christians, who if they had actual moral principals would denounce him.
When the legal system is rigged to allow corporations to exploit and extort the average citizen this is the one of the few avenues we have left. If I kill a person, I go to jail. If a healthcare CEO generates record profits by denying care to people who have paid into the system, he's protected from his actions by corporate law, and even rewarded with large sums of money.
I understand your point, but it's based on the false assumption that we live in a just, single tiered justice system
GetRight ftw. I just googled it and it's still a thing.
Now, burning CDs at 2x speed on windows 98 was a chore. Converting a whole disc with of mp3's and not breathing on your computer for 40 minutes so it didn't freeze and ruin an expensive CDR sucked.
Very true. In this case though, it's a fabricated story. The airline has publicly stated that this didn't happen. It's only been reported by a far right German rag, and re-reported by other right wing media. This also is close to election time in Germany and stories like this help push their agenda.
This shouldn't be shocking to anyone who pays attention. Every 2 years in america there's some impending migrant crisis that evaporated around November 5th, like migrant caravans and such.
Misogyny and bravado. Same for a lot of the Latino and Muslim communities. If the election were rerun tomorrow they'd probably just not vote. People with these personalities will never vote for a woman.
