what in the world are you playing? maybe broaden your horizons? i know loot boxes exist but to think it the majority is weird. Alan Wake, Metro, Satisfactory, Life is Strange, Planet Crafter, Baldurs Gate 3, Soul Mask, A Fisherman's Tale, Into the Radius, and Outbound are just a few games i have played recently and they dont treat me like a spread sheet.

epic is already winning the metaverse with fortnite. its main competitor was roblox but roblox has taken some hits on their lack of safety controls.

This blog is on the malwarebytes website. Malwarebytes says in thr post thst its not fair to call this spyware. This was brought up on the windows side as well.

What is really going on: claude desktop is installing the hooks for the claude browser extension. If you install the browser extension, claude desktop can control the browser. This is the intended behavior so you can have an agent do something like "in the morning, access these three sites, pull down the data and create a newsletter for me" or "please check flight costs throughout the day on these sites" or whatever you want to access the browser for.

This is the whole reason you install claude desktop, to automate your computer.

the person who wrote the article is... not a great thinker but you get some good answers from Cerf, so worth a read.

The first mistake the author makes is thst Tim Berners-Lee is not one of the fathers of the internet but of the world wide web. it runs on the application layet of the internet and came decades later.

The second mistake is corrected by Cerf. the difference between a discovery and an invention.

this is a decent read. theres honest criticism and not a "m$ sux lol" rant. a someone who can agnostically enjpy tech history, i would like to see how this plays out.

i am so tired my glasses are starting to fail me and i read:

Major Zohran Mamdani is going to live (short i) on twitch in new streaming series.

so i pictured a netflix show where he lives on twitch 24/7 in a big brother type living room.

i just learned that gitlab is publicly traded on the nasdaq.

no one is getting laid off by ai. its the firing cycle whovh has been going on for decades but now they get to say its ai and watch investors salivate.

I once again return to my soap box. The psu is the most important part of your computer build. So many people build computers and say "power is power" but so many crashes and it seems even fires (this one ia new to me) can be related to bad power management. Spend the money on the good psu.

For the bill in california, the money was tracked backed to meta. This is all about tracking you more.

Never vote for a bill that uses words like "child safety". They put this in bills they know wont pass with out it.

This was the tactic used in theamaxon superbiwl comer ial where they were partnering with flock to take control of your cameras and spy on you. The comercial was about a lost dog. Lickily, people didnt fall for that.
