The irony of a post feeling too AI to read talking about AI having automated away some tasks...
I feel like this is the side effect no one who uses AI to automate heavily is talking about. I use AI but I am extremely careful about how I use it and what it replaces, because I've seen it replace a task, then suddenly no one gives a fuck about that thing anymore and it basically just means people ignore it.
This article... People used to care and read these things, but AI is great at language and can generate pages of content from a simple idea.
And now I don't give a fuck about your idea and I'm not going to read your post and probably never visit your site. It's not because I don't like it, I just don't care about your content anymore because it provides no fucking intellectual nourishment. It's like eating cardboard. I don't know if any human even cares about these sentences, but I know I stopped caring as soon as I realized there was a few too many EM dashes and a bit too much AI flow to the writing.
You don't automate the task. You make people stop caring that it was being done in the first place, kill someone's team by automating what they do, then make your customer experience worse by destroying a task people used to care about.
It's the automation of enshittification. It speeds up the process 100 fold. That isn't a fucking good thing, and people will start to realize that in 5 years when no one is reading their articles anymore.
