It's just plain better than any other alternative. Better UI, better UX, better features, better customization, support for Monet... I could go on all day.

I was using Thunder last week until Sync's open beta got approved and the User Experience and the interface of Thunder is nowhere near Sync. It's a night and day difference, and a difference that would have made me use Lemmy less and less.

Signed up for Lemmy just because you're developing an app for it u/ljdawson. Can't wait.

Hard disagree. iOS UI/UX is sub par compared to Android. Consistent visuals and fancier animations don't mean that the UI is good.

Splurging $20 on a Lemmy app with my country's currency devaluation is not going to work for me. Nothing against you or the app, the app is amazing and leagues ahead of the competition. But I'm not even sure if Lemmy will be the replacement for Reddit and how it'll all pan out after the hype wears off, so I'm going to wait for regional pricing for this one.

Chill, mate, it's open-beta. Sync Ultra was a thing on Sync for Reddit as well, which comes with features that need constant cash such as server maintenance etc. IAP for ad removal will come soon.

It's a random spot check. Not something that would be done to the entire grid. It's literally practically impossible to check for every rule on every car after or during every race, which is why random spot checks exist.

Sri Lanka, please. And thank you for your hard work. Seeing your Sync for Lemmy announcement in-app in Sync for Reddit is the reason I joined Lemmy.

Loving it. Reminds me of the olden days of Reddit where the communities were smaller but everyone was contributing more.

The bugs and the issues help sell the fact that it's a smaller community so even those don't bother me so much.

You want developers who spent years studying design and development, to spend months developing an app, to just give that app away for free?

People like you are why more and more developers join big corporations for salaried position rather than trying to make it by themselves in the indie scene. Because they know they can't make it in the indie scene because you are too cheap to pay for their apps (either by buying the app, or by consenting to see ads)

If your app can't exist without ads then I don't believe it should exist at all.

Sync for Lemmy exists as a paid, ad-free version. The ad-supported version only exists for people who don't want to, or can't, buy the app.

My fan automatically turns off its LEDs after about 10 seconds. Good design FTW.
