This government is doing what the old conservative government did: passing laws that its own lawyers know very well are not Charter compliant. It then takes years to overturn those laws at huge financial cost, and only after years of human suffering that will largely never be seen or thought about. I think it’s a mistake to frame this as ignorance or stupidity alone.
