Shit isnât going to change unless there is an armed conflict.
it's literally happening right now in many places, no weapons required. socialism focuses on unionism for a reason: capital loses all of it's power when it stops flowing and it's all that's needed for now, really. the hard part is actually awakening class consciousness through the propaganda.
I donât see any leftists in the imperial core ever doing that
imperial core leftists are often not real leftists, they are just attracted by the aesthetics of it. many of them did a seemingly great job at fighting back ICE and some of the bullshit so far in the us, though.
every leftist space is basically filled with cops or spooks
also true, also hasn't stopped it. every serious organization takes it into account.
it's only hopeless while you think it is.
then what is the problem? why resignate yourself to a life of suffering and the possible extiction of the human race, when so many people are still out there trying to make things less bad?
i actually want to hear about half the shit you've done.
your story is strange, but it sounds like you need to find your place in the world before finding your way through trying to change it. which is ok, i need to find a bunch of stuff for myself too. all humans are fallible and political leaning is just a piece of the puzzle when it comes to that.
i'm not gonna be surprised at all when we find out for sure the us has been responsible for the fascist wave in the entire continent. they've been openly saying they wanted to take back control for a while.
my own country was that way last time around and might be the same this coming election too.
it's not about proving yourself to me or anyone, i'm just trying to understand.
you are not forced to take on arms and murder people and work 24-7 for abolishing capital. most people's can't, which is why you or most anyone else won't break into peter thiel's house to kill him unless very specific conditions are met. the sentiment is clearly there though.
turns out real socialism works very differently than that, much more like helping your fellows and building community.
and yes, i know exactly how it feels not to even be able to find work for who i am. but our only real obligation is to persist.
what have you done to fight back? are you unionized? if you know where thiel lives my assumption you are from the imperial core probably holds, right? it's harder and people are much less committed. western marxism is much less effective, and systemic change won't come from just one person working for a few years.
though that's not really how it works in the first place, we ain't going to end capitalism by luigi mangioning a few random billionaires. it historically takes a lot of sweat tears and blood and that should be expected.
my brother in christ, people are already fighting back, hard. the fact msm doesn't show it should be telling for anyone paying half attention, most lack of knowledge about most successful action is carefully engineered too.
i'm assuming you are from the western imperial core, and that's why you don't see it, but if you are not it's just a matter of joining them and start seeing for yourself. history shows again and again in a very straightforward and concrete way our lives improve quite a bunch every time we push back against capitalism. removing capitalism removes the systemic incentive for being an asshole.
i'll say it again because it's worth drilling into: it's not about the character of individuals but how the system is collectively set up. mistakes and assholes and all manner of contradictions will always exist, a society where they are the ruling class doesn't have to.
we are all still living in a capitalist hellhole where money is king but also scarce, and no one has time or money for a dignified life.
it's not about the individual's ideology, but what's collectively forced upon us. it's not surprising people are greedy and ignorant in a system that rewards it.
though being a big asshole doesn't make you a good leftist when it's all about fighting back, contradictions are common and have to be dealt with and ultimately material conditions determine how the fight is gonna be.
again, this can improve once we don't have the source of that problem anymore.
it's not like they've done this over and over again for every new war they started in these last few years or anything.
not looking forward to the oncoming energy chaos, but i'd be glad if they fucking collapsed from their own avarice.
sure, venezuela was really not that sovereign in the first place if that's all it took. i could say that of most of latin america that i'm aware of tbh.
thanks for using Leebra!
