You needed a Steam account of a certain age and some activity in the past. Sure, people immediately tried to resell them at ridiculous prices, but look up how many were offered and bought on eBay. It's a drop in the bucket. What they did fuck up was severely underestimating the demand. It shows that they usually deal with digital products.

If you're using it like an Xbox controller, it doesn't matter which one you buy. Steam Controller is about all the inputs that Xbox (or others) don't have, such as trackpads, touch sensitive sticks and gyroscope.

The German passport ID card (and I'm sure many others) has a NFC chip in it and you can use it with an open source app to securely prove your identity online. In cases like this, the only information pulled from your ID would be "over 18" or "not over 18".

I never really had issues in school, I was doing fine. But teachers kept telling me I wasn't living up to my potential. I was chaotic. Forgetful. Years later, I developed an anxiety disorder I didn't understand so I went to therapy. Turns out I also have chronic depression (oh, life is not so bleak for everyone??) and it's all because of severe ADHD and the attached problems. I'm almost 30 now. And while my therapist did a lot of structured tests, she is not qualified to actually diagnose ADHD. It's gonna be another year until I can get my formal diagnosis and medication.

I often wonder what could have been had the adults in my childhood been more attentive to my -in hindsight- obvious and severe problems.
