A trove of internal records from a secret society for powerful figures in US politics, finance, and tech was left exposed online, naming participants in its events and revealing sensitive personal details they were assured would stay private

It goes to show website designers can't follow basic security design protocol even when serving the owner class. We can't correct for general stupidity.

You'd have to create a threat linked to the money, so that Luigis went after anyone who kept their inheritance or dared to keep the wealth consolidated.

Eventually, someone would disseminate the money to survive.

On a related note, someone needs to hunt down private equity brokers and unethical venture capitalists the way Nazi hunters went after escaped Nazi officers after WWII, either to Luigi them or to bring them to international tribunal. Although, since nations can be influenced by ultra-wealthy oligarchs, it might not be possible to form such a tribunal. And that brings us back to the frontier justice of goomba-stomping plumbers.

In the aughts, I had a girlfriend who was conflicted, as she loved the feeling of bare skin but would get ingrown hairs in the week or two to follow.

I became sexually active in the early 1990s when the Brazilian look was big in porn, but most women still had full pubes, or if they were fancy, went for the French runway.

So my brain associated the shaved look with porn, and bush with IRL, which messed with my head on the occasion I had a partner who waxed herself clean.

My experience is that bush is easier to maintain and is easier on the skin. Shaving is fun for a single date, but results in a scratchy period and runs the risk of ingrown hairs.

This is how I know that the USA is just the first of the neoliberal states on a fast track to societal collapse. Throughout the industrialized world we're seeing the rise of the surveillance state, the influence of billionaires and the rise of far-right movements sponsored by the ultra-wealthy.

The disease infecting the United States is contagious.

It's down to $154 as of 2026-06-22, 4PM EDT, which is still higher than the IPO. But analysts called the IPO a bear price anyway. It's a bad time to buy.

I'd say wait until the market comes to its senses and SPCX makes its correction, but currently much of the whole Stock Market is overvalued based on futures. Meanwhile rich people are investing in gold and bonds.

According to How Money Works, OpenAI and Anthropic are going to soon make their IPO and Alphabet is going to do a revision thing (that I don't fully understand) so there's going to be a lot of extra supply for those wanting to buy brand new stocks. Also, US Bonds are being offered at a higher interest deal. So there are a lot of circumstances that suggest SPCX is not going to retain its high value.

Also, as has been covered before, SPCX is losing money, is $20 billion in debt, and its valuation is based on some super long term promises like a Mars colony (of one million people, not just a manned mission) and data centers in orbit. Making fat promises that don't get fulfilled is part of Musk's shtick. He's confidence-gamed his way to his trillion.

This was a whole plot point of season one of The Boys in which Vought International forces Starlight to wear a skimpier costume (this after she was already sexually assaulted by The Deep).

Reality imitates art, I guess.

To be fair, at the time, no one wanted Italy involved. In fact, the alliance between Germany and Vichy France was broken during the fighting in Casablanca because the French said Help us! Don't send Italians and Germany sent Italians.

But he's correct. If you're rich enough you can bribe all the seconds, then you can make extra moves and irregular moves. Heck, you can just have all the seconds declare you victor.

For extra points, hire guys with guns to make sure everyone at the tournament agrees with your rules.

This is the state of modern neoliberal capitalism from the view of billionaire oligarchs and multi-national conglomerate corporations.

We now have a three tiered justice system in which the ownership class are beyond the reach of law or justice, unless someone sacrifices themselves to do something Mangione.

In the meantime, those of us who can afford to retain a lawyer get their day in court, and everyone else is not guaranteed the right of habeas corpus (or any of the Bill of Rights).

I don't expect this to change in my lifetime.

We are learning as a species that public relations (messaging, propaganda, whatever) is effective, and when the ownership class can put trillions into controlling the masses, it works.

I'd like to think there's a counter for it, but the worker class seems to be willing to suffer a lot of misery so long as someone else is suffering more than they are.

The valuation of the stock is based on Musk doing what he's always done, which is making seemingly impossible promises sometime in the future.

You know what he promised by 2025? A fleet of driverless Tesla taxis. xAI producing the first AGI. A human being on Mars planting a flag.

You know what the evaluation of SpaceX is based on? The promise of a Mars colony with one million human inhabitants, and space-based data centers. It's going to be decades before it's worth the IPO, if ever.

In the meantime SpaceX is in debt 20 billion, and is bleeding money. It lost $4.94 billion in 2025.

So it looks to me like a private equity project. Like Toys 'R Us or Radio Shack or Claire's. Remember those?

And Nasdaq-100 is fast-tracking SpaceX into its portfolio after 15 days. Soon, pension funds and 401(k)s are going to feature SpaceX stocks. So when it does implode, a lot of worker-class folk are going to eat the loss.

You know who I bet will not be eating the loss? Trillionaire Elon Musk.

I'd assume that he's under a lot of pressure from his dad who will happily kill people who don't do what he wants.

Or, from one neurodivergent to another, you're surviving the only way you know how.

Trump's first term teemed with moments that Trump did the right thing (they were rare, but, y'know, the broken clock rule) and left-wing pundits would say yeah, it's good that Trump did that.

Then he'd tweet something obnoxious about it. Or when he was thrown off Twitter, would Truth his obnoxious commentary. Sometimes it was about him taking credit, or regretting that he had to do that thing, or walking back is rational statements in favor of irrational ones.

But there were a lot of pundits who believed principle over loyalty, and would give Trump credit when it was due.
