This wasn't really that big of a surprise. The development cycle indicated that it would most likely come out this September. Their page also says it will stop giving a 5-year warranty for FairPhone 4 starting with September.
With that said, I'd give this one a go if it was more secure. However, until Graphene OS doesn't tip their toes into this, I'm not jumping ships yet. Would love to, though! I really like the initiative.
I wonder if this is also related to how humans have ruined some old forests' flora and fauna with improper replantation. Not sure where I saw this, but another article was suggesting that the way we have artificially replanted has led to less biodiversity due to every tree growing at the same time (thus limiting light and "food" for other organisms).
Of course, this wouldn't necessarily lead to a global change, but could be one of the pieces thst contribute to it. Even if we set up high-tech and efficient carbon farms, the planet will still struggle to maintain biodiversity...
It might have been an issue with my set-up. I was trying to use the Jellyfin web version from my computer, which probably was not serving the files correctly. I'll have to test again soon to see whether fixes were made in the last 2 years for it :)
Never mind. It's because I was using Firefox, which doesn't support x265 due to licensing issues.
thanks for using Leebra!
