@ijhoo@lemmy.ml yeah, so now Coca Cola will not only pillage so much mexican water (it's an actual terrible problem) they'll also be doing it with cane sugar now. Perfect đ
Adding to what other people said there's volunteering for a cause you care about. It's a great way to meet other people that share your values.. be it helping with preparing meals for the unhoused, cleaning public spaces, planting trees, bothering your politicians, reading to elderly/kids/dogs, holding newborns without caretakers in hospitals, etc... look for your local organizations and reach out :)
@kamstrup@programming.dev whaaat :( I checked and there's nothing in the settings that would point to me having control over it, it's not marked as adult content
@streetfestival@lemmy.ca back then I used to get this milk from Silk that's the plant milk most similar to dairy milk I've ever tried, I told her about it. Before even trying it she insisted on getting her milk when we were at the super market. She tried it but prefers her milk. She tries food, she goes in already thinking she won't like it a lot of the times so it's not great but she does try them and then says she prefers the animal version. I need a different approach, which is why I'll try this.
@zombaya01@lemmy.world Oooh I didn't know that was happening, thank you for letting me know!
Then I don't know about being an asshole or not, but I think your gf has a point, wouldn't you agree?
I think volunteering is a great idea because it'll help you meet new interestng people while you "work" a job that matters and helps a cause you believe in. Keeps your brain active, you build community, you get something new to talk about with your gf... so many benefits :)
@alsimoneau@lemmy.ca looking for the lesser evil and minimizing the things I have to do đ«
Windows Defender warns you if a file seems malicious and then you have to accept a window to use it anyway or to keep it, isn't that also part of what a firewall does? I know it's silly and one should just do that mentally for every file but it's nice to have a reminder sometimes for sketchy files. Anyway, I was not asking specifically for that, just asking generally about virus protection and whatnot
@kylian0087@lemmy.dbzer0.com I've got a desktop but I think I ticked on the drive encryption while installing anyway
With "files" you also mean programs, right? The ones that I download and don't install with the terminal or an app store?
I'm not scared of the terminal myself, I'm scared of accidentally overwriting stuff or downloading something I didn't intend to because of a typo, etc... I'm careful but there's only so much one can fight the adhd. Plus I just really prefer visual interfaces
Thank you! :)
My go-to video is Dairy is Scary, 5 mins long
Yeah but it seems like some people (not you) take it personal geez... Of course a "casual" will mix firewall with anti-virus, like...? I am literally saying I don't know shit.
Thank you for actually explaining things in a helpful and chill manner without getting so stuck about one word I use wrong while still being an understandable question.
I'm aware of the guidelines to follow to not download viruses, I was just asking if there's another line of defense like Windows Defender, I see now there isn't, thank you. The only things I download online are things I can't find in that store, things made by individuals and individually published... like Material Maker for example.
thanks for using Leebra!
