I know it's not the 'correct' fight to have, but I think it's good to use the fact that anti-flock action is in the social media zeitgeist and keep supporting people; it is laying groundwork for civil disobedience we need.
thank you Black Panthers, I'm sorry we let society dictate the narrative surrounding your political actions.
🤣 take note future mudslingers: anarchists keep their receipts.
I've never encountered malicious content in book form. Avoid PDFs if you are worried.
I'm mainly trying to work out how to get off windows.
db0 is a personal hero of mine I have been a follower since his OCTGN creations.
Such a compelling image and backstory, I was not familiar with the Hayes Code. I find the desire to break rules compelling. So much of our own lives are brushing up against electric fences checking for weaknesses in the boundaries, and then an artist comes and says "let's break every rule" flagrantly. Does this thrill and this compulsion exist in the absence of rules? I don't think so. We're just hard-wired to be button pushers for some reason.

Lately people are starting to come around to ways social media makes people sick, and understanding consequences of the information age; from my experience the first casualty of this was not our attention spans, but our will to resist. Apparently just telling people your opinions on things anonymously gratifies your ego just enough without having to sign a petition, or stand outside in a line. "I'm so passionate about this subject I spend every waking moment talking about it online.; uh yeah I can't make it to the protest sorry, It's like a 30 minute drive and I have work in the morning."
"we just posted what we found on the internet" - da news
my fondest fantasy is to be jailed for posting
apologies if this isn't the place for this, but after bernie lost his nomination, I had become disenfranchised and sat out 2 elections. Now I'm seeing all the work that went into making me feel disenfranchised as mechanisms to control my vote; I don't understand it, but if so much work is going into controlling peoples ability to vote... it must matter more than I can comprehend.
When it comes to political action my American public school system education always held up these examples against each-other as if to say: "Here are two different ways people responded to the civil rights movement: Pacifist heroes like Rosa Parks compared to domestic terrorist Black Panthers." Their message was always that it is morally correct to respond to injustice with passivity.
This half-truth is so sinister that it leads us down this road of not even considering violence as an option at all and just throwing our hands up and wondering why everything is getting worse despite how hard we post on the internet about it. It took me a while to de-program myself, but once you see the actions and the protests as a necessary dichotomy a lot of things seem possible.
that was fun, stamets you sound cool
wondering if I can line an existing hat with tinfoil rather than having to fashion a new one.
