I don't think you speak for all Romanians

Majority of Romanians view Ceaușescu and communist era positively, study shows

Romania’s president has expressed concern after a new survey highlighted a growing sense of nostalgia for the communist era, with former totalitarian leader Nicolae Ceaușescu viewed positively by most Romanians.

The study, released this week, revealed that nearly 56% of Romanians believe the communist regime—widely regarded as one of the harshest of its era—brought more benefits than drawbacks to Romania.

A large majority of respondents—over 66%—told researchers they now regard former dictator Nicolae Ceaușescu, who ruled the country with an iron fist from 1965 to 1989, as a good leader.

The Institute for Public Opinion Polling (INSCOP) study, conducted with the Institute for the Investigation of Communist Crimes and the Memory of the Romanian Exile (IICCMER), suggests that nostalgia for the past is tied to widespread disenchantment around the country’s current prospects.

Just over 27% of respondents said they believed things in Romania are heading in a good direction, with more than 63% feeling that the country is on the wrong track.

Groups most likely to share positive sentiments about the communist era included the over-60s, people on lower incomes, and those living in the countryside or small towns. The same groups expressed the greatest disillusionment with present-day Romania.

In total, over 48% of Romanians said they believed life was better under communism.

This might be a reflection of your own hygiene. People are always surprised that I only shower once or twice a week and don't wear deodorant because I look and smell so clean. Ive had orgiastic sex camped out in the woods where no one had access to bathrooms or showers and honestly it was no smellier or grosser than sexing people in a place with showers.

Good diet and doing laundry properly goes a long way but honestly some people are just nasty as fuck with their genitals and no amount of access to running water will change this. There's unwashed pussies and dicks you will put in your mouth that taste wonderful and there are people who's junk will smell like yeast and rotten meat even though they just took a shower

Sex is a little nasty anyways. If you're not comfortable with other people's taint you're just not gonna be able to have as much sex. Not all taint is equal but it's all taint

Me and some other hexbears meet weekly and provide free food to our community but we never post about it online. Idk, just feels wrong to brag about it or constantly bring it up so this is the first time I've ever mentioned it on lemmy

You have no idea what people get up to on the otherside of the keyboard. It's silly to think people would chronicle everything they do on a Lemmy instance

Yes and it cuts both ways. Prior to transition when I was driving an Infiniti I got female attention but driving beat up Hyundais and Fords the only attention I got was from the police, like driving around with a sign that says, "pull me over".

Post transition my life circumstances are much better but the cars affect my dating prospects totally differently. Driving a brand new performance model EV in 2022 I had at least two dates where the guy would lose all interest in me once they saw I was driving a car that costed several times their annual income.

You could literally see all interest melt off their face, "my car is the white sedan, can you drop me off there?"

Immediate flip from being warm and engaged to this cold, "gtfo out of my Nissan" vibe

You can't have a shitty car as a man and you can't have a nicer car as a trans woman

I'm paying 3x my states monthly minimum wage for hourly workers to own in a fairly modest 1100 sqft house in a semi walkable area in a major city.

Before here I used to pay my states monthly minimum wage for hourly workers to live in a fucking slum just outside the city. House was by an interstate so I got soot on anything I left outside, all the houses in the neighborhood were water damaged and molded to hell, the roads were so cracked it was fucking up cars, and everyone who lived there seemed miserable.

It's grind or die, I got so fucking sick living in alleged affordable housing. Nerve damage and all kinds of weird chronic health problems from living in such a toxic death trap for years. They don't call it the Dirty South for nothing, this place is completely fucked.

Been in and out of Linux since 2006.

Linux Mint with Cinnamon DE is the only distro I've ever used that worked flawlessly for everything without needing to use the terminal at all. It worked so well it was boring. It's the only distro I would recommend to a lay person

You guys are so arrogant and have your heads so far up your own asses you cant even conceive of someone disagreeing with you unless they are misinformed or a disingenuous paid troll. You guys wont see reality until it smacks you square in the face.

You can start working on mutual aid today. it's not a wish list, it's something you can actually incorporate into your life. At a bare minimum treat it like church and participate for at least a couple of hours a week.

Ive been involved with a group making free food for the community for eight years. This is going to be a generational struggle. You already think that it would take 50 years of Democratic super majorities to accomplish anything, what's a decade or two of working to build robust community organizations that would facilitate a general strike?

And the icing on the cake is you can still vote for your democratic super majority; mutual aid/community organizing and voting are not mutually exclusive although I have to say voting is a very passive activity you might do a couple times a year a most. Building community organizations and mutual aid networks is much more involved and takes diligence and continual effort.

There's no reason you can't do both. If you are serious about fixing this country we are going to need to do everything we possibly can and then sustain that effort until the job is done.

Oh my goodness, you are one tracking on elections so hard. You ignore everything I say and circle right back around to voting. Alright I'll humor you.

Our plan for 2026 election:

-Vote in primary if applicable

-Vote in general

Great, super easy to get all of our planning done. It took all of five seconds and when it comes time to actually vote it will take less than an hour. I don't understand why we need to plan something this simple so far in advance but now we've got a plan.

Now that thats out of the way we can focus on more important things like finding ways to build more robust communities and serve our neighbors in need. The Democrats aren't coming to save anyone for literally years, there are hungry, unhoused, and unemployed people that need help now.

Do you even have a plan for what you will do if the Democrats don't win the election? What about if the Democrats win the election but still screw the working class? Are you going to wait 50 years to see if voting Democrat works or not before you try anything else? Given the Democrats performance over the past 50 years I'd say starting and stopping your political engagement at voting and electoralism is magical thinking, a hail Mary, all eggs in one basket, a recipe for disaster.

Say it with me, voting and mutual aid are not mutually exclusive. You can do both at the same time. Mutual aid/community organizing takes hard work on a regular basis while voting is a passive affair that takes a couple of hours a year at most. Of the two spending more of your focus and energy on the lower effort, passive option is a recipe for failure.

I was a horrible smoke all day stoner for years while I was dealing with health problems. Now that I'm healthier I've been doing something I call the One Dab A Day Challenge.

I smoke one time a day, at the end of the day. Tolerance is resetting to a point where I don't crave the high all day and most days the one smoke gets me higher than the previous day, very slow

Also I'd highly recommend ketamine as an alt drug. At low doses like a bump or three it's a perfectly functional alcohol substitute except there's no hangover or feeling sick after. It makes me wanna dance and does a better job of mitigating social anxiety. If I'm in a crowd it literally makes the people appear as if they are further apart than they were before I took a couple bumps. Loading it in a metal bullet I can discreetly use it in just about any setting

I said it in my own top level comment too but I'll post it again here sibce you're asking. I'd highly recommend ketamine as an alt drug. At low doses like a bump or three it's a perfectly functional alcohol substitute except there's no hangover or feeling sick after.

Loading it in a metal bullet I can discreetly use it in just about any setting. You just gotta make sure you go slow and small so you don't get k holed in public lol

Birth of a New Day is one of the greatest of all time for its genre and sound but fortunately the artists involved in making it also made lots of other albums. I believe the artist 2814 is collaboration between HKE and Telepath. There is a lot more from both of them

These are some of my favorites:

Room 2814 - 2814

Lost Fragments - 2814

Rain Temple - 2814

HK - HKE

This - Hong Kong Express

Hong Kong Express - Hong Kong Express

Building a Better World - 猫 シ Corp. & t e l e p a t h テレパシー能力者

愛慕 / 悲哀 - HKE and t e l e p a t h

Gateway アセンション - HKE / t e l e p a t h テレパシー能力者

一緒に別の夜 - t e l e p a t h テレパシー能力者

I could keep going but it would be easier for you to just check the discographies of any of the artists mentioned. Check the discographies of any artist they collab with too
