I review flashlights and other gear at https://zakreviews.com/
@Adair21 $1764.56
@SubArcticTundra Those can be used as headlamps, handheld, and for most of them, magnetic work lights.
@flashlight
@beaconsoul @flashlight You have successfully posted to Lemmy from Mastodon.
For people new to this federation thing, Dan has posted using Mastodon, software that resembles Twitter and speaks the same ActivityPub protocol that Lemmy, which resembles Reddit uses. I'm also replying using Mastodon.
The user experience tends to be smoother federating between software that's more similar, but it's nice that it's possible even when they're pretty different.
Changes:
* Added Skilhunt M300 v4
* Added Wurkkos TS27
* Reworked enthusiast section entirely
@helenslunch @flashlight check the publication date.
@Showroom7561 @flashlight There have been Olight models on this list before. There aren't any currently due to the company's heavy use of proprietary batteries. Their LED selections in many models also leave something to be desired.
Not many changes this time around.
NU25UL becomes NU25 MCT UL
Removed Catapult Pro (price increased)
Added DW3AA
Added Pineapple Mini II
Changes:
Linked reviews for the majority of lights
Removed EC35 II (discontinued)
Removed Pineapple Mini (discontinued in aluminum)
Removed Sofirn SC21 and SC21 Pro (discontinued)
Removed Thrunite T1 (discontinued)
Replaced Fenix PD32 v2 (discontinued) with PD32R
Added Sofirn HS21
Removed Acebeam L18 (discontinued)
Added Acebeam L19
Added Skilhunt EC500
Replaced Convoy S3 with S2+
Removed Wurkkos TS10 Max (it's not that compelling)
Later changes:
December 27: added Wurkkos HD10
@solrize Current measurements are in the runtime table. Like I said, I think the output (and therefore efficiency) measurements may be a little optimistic. It does have a boost converter.
I agree a powerbank function would be a great addition here. It would be the perfect larger travel light if it had that. The tailcap magnet is easy to remove.
@dual_sport_dork I definitely have trouble relating to the ultralight crowd. I'd be more inclined to take an 18650 headlamp and an 18650 powerbank so I could swap cells between them than to recharge a headlamp from a powerbank.
@Zak I took another picture of another flashlight. This is a test of federation from Mastodon.
Changes aren't huge this time around:
Remove SC32 (high-CRI option discontinued)
Remove SP31 v2 (discontinued)
Remove Zebralight H53c N (overpriced)
Add H200 and H200 Mini
Acebeam L35 becomes 2.0
Wurkkos TS10 becomes 2.0
E70 (21700) removed (high-CRI option discontinued, and the low-CRI version isn't that special)
Not a lot of changes this time around:
Added SC13 519A
Added L16 v2
Updated MiX-7
Removed Convoy Z1
Pending Wurkkos TS10 Max
@Zak And a reply from Mastodon to see how that displays on my site.
Changelog:
Wurkkos FC11 replaced with FC11C
Acebeam E70 Mini removed
Skilhunt EC200 and EC200S added
Sofirn SP40A removed
Acebeam L35 updated to 2.0
Thrunite TC20 v2 removed
Emisar D3AA added
Convoy C8+ updated
Convoy M21F replaces M21C
Convoy M3C removed
@beaconsoul @flashlight Now if I reply to this here, is it threaded in Lemmy?
@solrize I have several headbands for the DW4, including the one that optionally ships with it. I'll use one from Skilhunt for any angle light.
The DW4 is 157g with battery, and the Wizard is 125. The Wizard is mostly better at being a headlamp, but the DW4 has better tint and efficiency.
@MashedPotatoJeff I've had airport security in various countries look at flashlights with curiosity, but never had a problem. Security in Italy wanted me to take the batteries out of a 4x18650 light I had in my carry-on.
@SammysHP @flashlight I'm sure we'll know when it actually comes out. Their "tailor-made" language suggests they're having a manufacturer produce a bespoke design for them.
I'm sure Nitecore hasn't build their own semiconductor fab just to make an LED, but smaller manufacturers might be up for semi-custom runs.
More changes:
Replaced Sofirn IF22A with Wurkkos TD01C. The regulated buck driver is much more efficient and doesn't dim as the battery drains in medium modes. It also has more throw.
Added Zebralight SC700d HI.
Re-added Reylight Pineapple Mini.
Added Skilhunt EC200S Mini.
thanks for using Leebra!
