I think they try to avoid sending the chronically depressed to run the lighthouses. Maybe you should try air traffic control.

A couple years ago they were looking for a new lighthouse keeper in the SF bay https://ebls.org/about/keepers-search-innkeeper/ but it looks like they filled the position.

However this lighthouse includes a B&B and is in the bay surrounded by millions of people so maybe not quite what you were looking for.

A friend of mine works nights at the receiving desk of a supermarket. It's basically the job you want, minus the sea (and you have to talk to a few truck drivers every once in a while). There is even a cat!

I live in Michigan. There are tons and tons of freshwater lighthouses left. I suspect they're not as common as they once were, but they still ring the Great lakes. Map: https://gllka.maps.arcgis.com/...
