That’s unfortunately what we as Ukrainians feel

I know that the comments directed against Russians were worse, but I still feel like somebody needs to point out how infuriating it is when Ukrainian anticommunists do the exact same shit that gusanos do: speaking on behalf of their entire nationality, oversimplifying reality to a mindnumbingly fuckheaded extent.

It’s a tactic that they pull to preemptively kill any nuanced analysis of the situation and manipulate people into adopting their black‐and‐white view of the world.

How are people okay with this? Because western liberals are, deep down, incredibly racist. They love this war as it gave them an acceptable outlet for their fascistic tendencies. I guarantee you if it were a black country they'd all be dropping tactical N-words and painting it as progressive.

people have a tendency to forget the murders on fellow americans that were of brown skin after 9/11 or the bullying of school children with brown skin

It's really depressing having a historical memory that goes back a few decades. I remember that shit first hand and it still sickens me. For most people it really seems 'history began yesterday'.

it feels like this strategic amnesia by the institutions that raise us is by design i'm afraid.

For sure it's just weird to me that even when I was a lib, I still remembered stuff longer than the news cycle. I sometimes wonder if that's a part of the reason I was able to become a communist at all - being unable to forget the continuously mounting atrocities and crimes of empire.

Article 22(2)(a) of the 1991 ILC Draft Code of Crimes against the Peace and Security of Mankind, states that “collective punishment” is an exceptionally serious war crime and a serious violation of the principles and rules of international law applicable in armed conflict.

Remind libs of this whenever you see shit like this happening.

Reminds me of some Canadian being proud that the Geneva Conventions were written because of Canadian war crimes (I have no idea if this is even slightly true). Geneva Suggestion and what not.

They'd probably say something like "russians don't count as human, so it doesn't apply". Wouldn't even be surprised anymore.

We are talking about the same people who were ecstatic when a shark ate a guy that just so happened to be Russian.

The thick irony is that this guy seemed to have been anti-war. Nevertheless, Ukrainians and libs don't care and they are happy that a Russian died, even if he was of the "good" type

it really seems like the "you'll never be a westerner" rhetoric is true

"Whiteness" and "Westerness" are "in groups" that are only defined by what they aren't. They exist as an opposition to the "outgroup" which again, is very ill defined and basically just amounts to "people who aren't a part of the in group"

These concepts need an outgroup to define themselves, so they will always find some target, even if it means "revoking" white or western status from a group. We're seeing that with Russia now, we'll soon see it just as intensely for Chinese people (and Asians in general) and once this war is over, we'll see Ukranians lose the "westerner" status very quickly and be demoted back to "Asiatic hordes" along with their siblings to the east.

And of course, if you try to explain this to a lib, they will deny it all, but speak to them again in 12-24 months and they'll be saying the exact hateful, racist rhetoric you said they would fall for.

What do these libs honestly expect will come of this? Some Russian-Canadians running back to daddy Putler crying that they can't participate in some Canadian cultural festival cause he started an evil war of extermination against the holy benevolent Ukrainians?

This is like the theater around banning Russian athletes from international competition, or even just not showing their flag. It's childish and drives even more division between us working people.

I honestly doubt most people who approve of these things are human beings. Talking about this war is a good way to bring out all the bots and government workers with burner accounts.
