Hope this takes off. It (Lemmy) feels a better fit for the fediverse than Mastodon does. Seems a good new home for r/PS5. Or whatever it becomes to be known as.
I happen to agree. Could never get I to mastodon. But then again I couldn't get into Twitter either. I've been revering to it as c/ps5 for shorthand

I usually follow another user's recommendation, basically, wait for off hour, then click the subscribe pending button, it will return to the default state, then you click subscribe button again and wait for it to become "Joined". Wait for a little bit and then refresh the community to verify you are actually joined. Then you can go to your instance and check the subscribed page and sorting to see if your new subs comes up.
Welcome! This is likely an issue with lemmy.ml having server issues. I am noticing this issue with subscribing to any community on lemmy.ml at this time. It will just take time as they iron out kinks from the recent server migration yesterday.
Likewise, no lemmy.ml communities are not showing on https://browse.feddit.de/ at this time
I read elsewhere that even if it says pending you should still see it if you sort posts by "subscribed"

Very happy with Lemmy, fuck spez and Reddit. A lot of addicted lazy gamers on r/PS5 who don't realise the implications of their data being sold and spez's disgusting behaviour - I hope many of the active users who contribute move to the fediverse. I plan to scrub my data and delete my 10 year old account before the API changes come into effect, and I might spin up my own Lemmy instance at some point.
